Johnson gitting it on radio show.

Here is the overall record of the ACC opponents played during that stretch:

UVA Part I= 8-5
Miami Part I= 6-6
Clemson Part I=11-3
VPI Part I=11-3
Duke= ??? who the hell cares
VPI Part II = Somewhere between 8-5 and 11-3
UVA Part II= somewhere between 5-7 and 8-5
Miami = somewhere between 8-5 and 11-3

we're not just playing the ACC. We're playing the division leaders/winners multiple times, and Duke.

I don't know anyone who judges performance in last XXX games dating back to last season, especially in college given the turnover of other teams let alone your own. That's just dumb.

So ----ing true.

Lol this years Miami team will be 6-6 max. This years UVA team will probably be 5-7.

We played 3 good teams in that stretch. Last years VT, last year's Clemson, and last years UGA. Oh and not a single one of the losses from last year won a bowl...

I will take that miami bet

When we lost to VT Nov 1 2007 (3-27) we had lost 7 of our last 12. (Chan)

When we lost to Clemson on Sep 20 2003 (3-39) we had lost 8 of our last 12. (Chan)

When we lost to Virginia on Nov 8 1997 (31-35) we had lost 8 of our last 12. (O'Leary)

And of course, there was '94 under that one guy.

88 was a disaster as well as the beginning of 89 under Ross, easily a worse stretch than under O'Leary or Chan.

Seems like this thing happens at Tech. Not so sure why we're fixated on this one.

6-6 max, huh? I bet you $50 they end up better than 6-6.

Wow. So you're saying its the fans fault Miami owns us cause the fans wanted Gailey gone. W T F

No...please stay focused.

I made the comment that CPJ has closed the gap against Miami this year...meaning that we lost in OT vs. bad losses the previous 3 years. I am only judging the play within this staff.

YOUR response was that we were going backward and that Chan Gailey won 3 straight vs. Miami.

My response to that was if that was so wonderful...why did the fans run off Chan Gailey?

GT fans are far too quick to criticized...climbed all over 9 coaches since Bobby Dodd. Heck..even Dodd lost to UGA his last 3 years. Bobby Ross goes 7-5 following Natl Champ and we do not even sell out season tickets that year (1991) in a 45K seat stadium...so he moves on.

We are just unrealistic about the challenges.

I mean really my main thing is, the refs (with Orwin's help, yes) literally handed Miami 2 points and the ball in a situation where no one would've complained or even remembered if they called a touchback...

and yet here we are talking about how ööööty our team is.

It was an absolute comedy of errors of epic proportions last Saturday. There's nothing to do but move on.

Looking at trends.... hmmm....

1-4 against Va Tech... 2 losses in a row (Gailey was 1-3 so about the same)
1-3 against UGA trending 3 losses in a row (Don't get me started on the Gailey vs UGA record)
1-4 against Miami trending 4 losses in a row (I believe Gailey was 3-1)

Edited for Clemson: 4-1 (Gailey was 3-4ish?) Improvement

Tech was trending 0-3 in bowl losses in Gailey's last three years... CPJ has continued that trend going 0-4 in bowl games. His excuse the first year was we were playing better teams than we were before in bowl games... Air Force and Utah aren't any better and 0-2.

Man...do you know how to look at trends?

We lost in OT by one play to a Miami team that killed us the previous 3 years. We lost in OT to VaTech this year...again...one play.

If a sales force misses forecast by 1% that is not good....they missed forecast. However, if sales were still up 10% over the previous year, despite missing forecast, then they are headed in the right direction and any radical change from your business plan can send you back to rebuild mode.

3-1 now

W/L vs North Carolina State
L @ #10 Notre Dame
W/L vs North Carolina
L vs #4 Florida State
L vs Virginia Tech
W/L @ Virginia
W/L vs South Florida
W @ Duke

so I have them right at about 6-6

Too bad we don't have a game tonight like we did after VT.

People going all sorts of crazy in here just itching for more GT football.

Got ya... I feel way better this year knowing that our trophy case was closer to being almost filled than last year!

Yes we do have a shot, and it's because Clemson has a crap of defense and we have done well against their offense last year. We have no room for error now, one more ACC loss and we are out of contention.

Regardless, there is still A LOT of football to play this year.

I agree with y'all about not being out of contention. I am pulling like hell for us to win out and a little bit of help.

One more, Jerry Mays was 5-7 175 and did just fine as our primary running back. I don't recall him having any serious injuries.

You are really wrong on this one. I watched the trainers bending his leg to about 5° and Jerry screaming in pain in 1987.

No way any HC will publicly throw their assistants under the bus....

If that is happening, it is with the doors shut and in their face..

Truth continues to be that NO DC will make our D that great without great players, and although we have some good players, maybe some very good players, but no great ones IMO, and for sure not even very good ones on the DL....
Agree with you Bama, main thing I hate is the read and react bull we play with on the 34.Thats my big kick since it kills aggression.I looked at replay and its clear to me we are not ready to play at times.Miami jumping on the sidelines, coaches running back and foward and ........we just sit there with clipboard.PJ will grab a player and did so Saturday but he needs to get the guys ready to go.Still cant believe he didnt know how important Ga game was when he lost.

The defense played well in 1 out of three games (VA) and the offense played well in 2 out of three. We have to throw out the PC game.

The defense gave up 17 points in regulation. If you don't accept that as success, you're a moron. That's much better than recent years and good enough to win. It definitely isn't a failure like the offense was.

Then get more talent!!! Don't go off on your typical Tech is hard to recruit for BS. We all know we can do better recruiting.
Roger that,so sick of we will be better when PJ gets his own players etc.Time is now not later.

Miami isn't nearly as talented as some make them out to be, and they were depleted by injuries (we had some too). It wasn't the Miami team of the mid 80's or early 2000's. They are a 7-win team at best
Yeah you are probably right but Golden will take seven with his unjuries.they do have talent and big thing to me was they played under control and were ready to play.We didnt look like we were ready.
