Mark Bradley doesn't think GT has 'BCS caliber' players on Defense

Wearing a suit,

Sitting at home,

On a kitchen table.

Hard to take this blowhard seriously.

He really is an idiot if he thinks GT doesn't have BCS caliber talent. We had one of the best linebacker classes in the country in 2010 with Menocal, Harrell, JHD, ect.

That really is stupid of him to say.

Mark Bradley, the only man who makes Heather Dinich's writing look award-worthy.

Don't we have 4 star players on our defense? Man the threshholds are getting ridiculous up in this place.

I'm just surprised somebody mated w/ him (safe assumption regarding the kiddy toys in the background? :pedobear2:)

Even if you want to use the worst possible analysis method, recruiting rankings, we cannot mathematically have less than bcs caliber recruits.

There are six bcs conferences with, let's say, an average of twelve schools. Sixty six bcs schools total. We typically rank in the forties. Not all bcs schools rank in the top sixty six, and not all non bcs schools rank outside it, but you get the point. It doesn't even pass the common sense rule.

Did he age twenty years or something?

The internets have turned all previous assumptions of his profession on its head in less than a decade. I'm surprised all journalists don't look like that these days. It also doesn't help that he covers sports in Atlanta.

I still believe our secondary has the chance to be very good. Also it was very encouraging to Sweeting run with Sammy Watkins last Saturday (there were a few deep balls in the first half where our coverage was spot on).

It's hard to argue with that when you look at our performance. However, I look at our defense and see a few guys that will play on Sundays. On offense, maybe 1 guy? Probably Uzzi?

I'm not a fan of Mark Bradley, but I think his BCS caliber comment was not a reference to the athletes as much as their performance against MTSU. He says a BCS team should be able to line up the same way all day, and not give up 500 yds and 49 points to MTSU. I think that means the defensive schemes can't be the sole reason for that to happen. That's probably a fair statement.

....when they are ahead by 4 TDs in the 4th quarter.

Oh, this isn't one of those threads?

Virtually impossible to play AJC's videos if you use NoScript.

If you're lining up one db across from two receivers, I don't care how good your athletes are. The other guys are going to eat your lunch. Scheme most definitely can mitigate athletic ability, or else we'd be running pro style like everybody else.
