the fact is, the Mutts played a pretty good game against Bama and i dont have a problem with a coach the protects his players from a douchebag reporter

on a side note, i watched their game with two high school buds that went to Georgie that i still hang out with and this is exactly what they were talking about after the loss - not being able to win "the big one"

For the record, I take back my comment calling Richt a little bitch. It was indeed a dick question, but I enjoyed Richt getting upset.

I rejoice in UGAy's defeat but they played a pretty good game. And Oliver and Chernoff both are sissy little bitches.

Legit, though douchey sounding, question. Richt avoided the question by getting the reporter to not man up. Richt's tantum at the end had good intentions but will probably piss off fans.

nothing more than oliver being a jackass. as much as i hate to admit it, georgia played the game of their lives and i believe that was the national championship right there. and i applaud richt for sticking up for his team, better than blaming his players like someone i know....

Your insinuation that CPJ blames the players makes you almost as much of a jackass as Oliver.

okay, ill just ignore all the times pj has stuck it to his players instead of himself.
I can never think of a time he has stuck it to the players and not included himself in the blame. He has said before it was coaches fault and he has said it was everybody's coaches and players fault but he has never singled them out or blamed just them.

What was the major error? I can't remember the series too well. If Murray spikes it at the 8, that stops the clock, but that just gives them more time to think about that play. Should they have been spiking it earlier in the drive?

No, it was then. Given them time to think. Have two shots in the endzone rather than let 5 sec tick off and then checkdown frantically.

They had the clock stopped with 15 seconds due to the first down. Murray wanted to spike, but Richt sent in a play, which caused valuable time to run before they even snapped the ball.

However, Murray did look to the endzone (not a check down like one poster said) the ball was tipped and the check down WR instinctively caught it.

I believe Richt wanted to keep the Bama personnel on the field. It was poor clock management, but hindsight makes it much worse.

Had to happen that way though, no way could I stomach UGAg and ND for a national title.

I don't think not spiking was too bad to be honest. A spike play costs a couple seconds. You spike and then you're maybe looking at one play instead of two.

They spike the ball there is 13/14 seconds on the clock. Plenty of time for at least two plays.

The whole "choke in big games" line never seems to consider that in "big games" you're always playing against pretty good teams or else they wouldn't be "big".

You mean a team doesn't do as well when it plays better teams? shocking! That applies to just about all of them.

Yes. Choking would have been losing to us last weekend.

HuH????? Even sand lot QB's can get two heaves in the endzone in 14 or even 10 seconds. Watch much football??? Avg pass play is seven seconds.
