Who moves from linebacker?

With the departure of Groh and arrival of Ted, it is pretty certain the 3-4 will be scrapped as the main defensive set. The question becomes, what do we do with our approximately 800 linebackers?
Roof has used smaller edge rushers before like Nick Rogers. Who might be moved to add depth to the DE spot?
Crenshaw is an obvious choice. Former DE with good size.
Marcordes and Menocal have the frames to beef up. Drummond might get a look.
But a surprising name might be Sneezy. Currently listed at 6'3 240, he could be a hybrid guy that rushes 75% of the time, but has the athleticism to drop in zone blitz situations. Maybe not full time, but it allows Watts to get more snaps at linebacker. Sneezy had the most success attacking this season. I think he isn't as instinctual as the other 3, and gets lost on his run fits from time to time. Moving him to DE on obvious pass situations could give us the pressure we have lacked since Morgan left.
Thoughts?

Why would Attaochu be a surprising choice? I'd say he's the obvious choice. He's pretty much what you want in a WDE. And he played up to the LOS a decent amount his year anyway. Menocal looks the part of a DE as well.

I think the more important question is who plays DT. I guess Green and Gotsis are default starters (for better or for worse). I'd like to see Chungong beef up and play inside as I think that fits his game better anyway. Commissiong might see time right away. Maybe move Gamble inside too. That would leave Cummings and hopefully Dieke at SDE with Attaochu at WDE. If Kallon can contribute that would be BIG from a pass-rush point of view (something we badly need).

Watts/Hunt-Days/Nealy make a pretty sick starting LB group too.

I think Kallon and Attouchu will be the default pass rushers.

Reports are that Kallon might be another year away from playing.

Well we have another 8 months til he will be needed to play, so great. I don't think he'll be starting or anything, but I could see him being brought in on obvious passing downs with the instructions to just get to the QB. Then maybe by 2014 he's got enough experience to start getting mixed into more packages or maybe even start.

I think you have to have J. Attouchu, Q. Nealy, and J. Hunt-Days on the field.

So, move Attouchu up to DE, have B. Watts and Q. Nealy outside w/ J. Hunt-Days at MLB.

Then you have Dieke at the other DE with A. Gotsis and S. Green at starting DT.

Have a short yardage package with Drummond in for Watts.

Have a pass defense package with Kallon in for S. Green.

Backups
DE: Crenshaw and Kallon with Cummings / Williams / Kitchen 3rd string
DT: P. Gamble, R. Chungong
OLB: Menocal & Marcodes (who need to step it up), T. McNair / C. Cheeks (I want to see these guys)
MLB: A. Harrell, B. Hankins (unproven talent)

Is there something wrong with having a 6'3 240# linebacker?

I like Snezzy as a pass rusher. He has good quickness and strength. He needs to try and put on about ten to fifteen good pounds. From the stands Kallon looks like a beast. He may be a real good pass rusher as well. It should be fun to watch

I keep waiting for the next

Coleman Rudolf. IIRC in 1989 he was an undersized OLB. He put on about 30 pounds in the off season and became an even more undersized DT. But his LB quickness made him very effective at shooting the gaps and blowing up plays. Maybe with a 4-3, one of the LB's decides he's really a quick DT at heart.

we have 3 really good LB not including Sneezy. Sneezy is better than cummings or any DE proposed. So all 4 will be on the field.

Daryl Roberson was a VERY good WDE for us in a 4-3 scheme. May have been the best on the line. He weighed 250.

I see sneezy at WDE. Watts at Will, Hunt days mike, nealy Sam. These 3 LB are going to be PERFECT in a 4-3.

Green will be one DT. The second DT will be a battle between gotsis, gamble, chungong, keith, cummings. While cummings and gamble and kallon could be in a DE rotation for both WDE and SDE. SDE is probably dieke, although cummings could fight him here.

The real battle may be at S. With a new DC, johnson, holton, griffin, thomas will be fighting, and thomas will be fighting for starting CB as well....replacing sweeting.

There is some back 7 athleticism no doubt....gotta get them in the right scheme and behavior. Need the front 4 to man up.
