Hey guys,

I've been a lifelong Georgia Tech fan that has been attending Tech football games since about age 8. Since I was a kid, I've always kept my tickets from football games, but in December 2011 I started collecting tickets from all seasons. Since then I've amassed a collection of over 680 different tickets spanning more than 90 years. My oldest ticket is a student ticket from 1921 against the Davidson Wildcats.

The entire collection is on display at http://georgiatechticketstubs.com. You can either view the tickets by season or by opponent, and you can also view a single page with all of the bowl tickets.

Check out the site when you get a chance. The older games and those from 1998 - 2002 have game summaries with stats and sometimes videos that give a recap of the events.

While I've got most of the tickets back to 1980, there are a bunch of away tickets and a few home tickets that I'm still missing. The home tickets that I need are:

11/16/1985 - Wake Forest @ Georgia Tech
11/19/1983 - Wake Forest @ Georgia Tech
10/1/1983 - North Carolina @ Georgia Tech
9/17/1983 - Furman @ Georgia Tech
10/31/1981 - Duke @ Georgia Tech
10/3/1981 - North Carolina @ Georgia Tech
9/27/1980 - Memphis State @ Georgia Tech

I've also got all but two bowl games tickets:

1/3/2004 - Tech vs. Tulsa - Humanitarian Bowl
1/1/1948 - Tech vs. Kansas - Orange Bowl

There are also a ton of away tickets that I'm missing, and many more home tickets from the 70's and prior.

If anyone has these tickets and is willing to sell, trade, or donate them, please shoot me at e-mail at brad@georgiatechticketstubs.com. If not, please enjoy the site and forward it to anyone else you think may enjoy it.

GO JACKETS AND THWG!!!

Thanks!
Brad

I'm a bit surprised at the negative responses from Tech fans like a few of those above. A lot of effort has been put into this site to write about the history of Tech football. Seriously, you guys should check it out when you get a chance...without digging through old newspaper articles there's virtually no good location on the internet where you can find stats from Tech games prior to the mid-90's aside from this site.

One day I may donate the collection to the athletics department or library to put on display.

Similar requests have been very well received on opposing team sites, so it does bother me a bit that our own fans have been so unwelcoming. While the post does make the request for some tickets, it's also geared at sharing something about the history of Tech football. I don't think by any means that it's inappropriate.

THWG!

I think it's very cool.

This place is always unwelcoming. All in good humor though, don't let it get to you.

Thanks! Yeah, it doesn't bother me that much, but I've seen the same type of thing on some other Tech forums...Rivals was most notably the same way

This. Very cool

Consider it a term of endearment Brad!

Great work. I went down just now and dug through my collection of old stubs but apparently they are all from the 1990 season. That was my first back in Atlanta as a season ticket holder, so I picked a good year to come back to town, eh?

Looks like you have all of those already.

Yeah, the 1990 season is complete! What a great one to have finished too. I looked at a YouTube recap of that season last week and got chills. The Wake Forest ticket from that year took a long time to find, but I've actually got two of them now.

The front page of the site shows links to new tickets and new game summaries as they are added. The tickets will naturally slow down as more and more of them are found, but right now I tend to find at least a few a month.

The responses are due to this being perceived as being posted in the wrong forum. The list might be a better location for requests. All of those games are before my time, but this would be quite the collection for a man cave. I hope you have them in fireproof cases. If I was a little further along, I'd ask you how much it would cost to buy you out. This is the type of collection that would work perfectly cased under glass for my future bar.

Hey I've got a million student tickets from 2006-2011 that I would love to trade some for a '09 VT or a O-Bowl ticket. I have a collection of tix as well.

Wow, awesome site! You have put a lot of effort into this, and it looks great.

Whenever you deal with GT fans online, you have to remember that they are all internet comedians and douchebags.

I have a ticket stub from the 2009 VT game. That is by far my favorite one. That was an awesome game. Will never forget rushing the field with my dad.

...
9/17/1983 - Furman @ Georgia Tech

I know where to find one.

When Dante toured Hell, he didn't make it to level ∂X. That's where bad Tech fans go when they die. Its a recreation of BDS on September 17, 1983 - you are given a ticket to the Furman game and ushered to your seat by Vince Dooley. You must watch the entire game. When you exit, you are given a ticket to the Furman game and ushered to your seat by Vince Dooley. You must watch the entire game. When you exit, you are given a ticket to the Furman game...

StingTalk reacts poorly to Actual Football Content™.

I wish I had some tickets to contribute to this collection, it is pretty awesome.

First to Brad - great site, I will enjoy poking around.
Second - LOL to Burdells post. That's the most hilarious and ay the same time sad thing I've ever seen on here.
