Does it feel like we have the 2nd easiest remaining schedule in the nation?

Footballstudyhall.com seems to think we do http://www.footballstudyhall.com/2013/10/29/5042440/the-real-world

I was shocked to see this. It doesn't take into account the eventual record of our opponents, so Miami today looks a lot better for our SOS than the eventual Miami team which might have 3 losses (FSU, VPI, FSU again in ACCCG) however Duke today does look a lot worse than they will at seasons end if they win 9 games, which they could very well do.

Still even with Alabama A & M and Pitt left on the schedule I just don't feel like Clemson and Ugag (despite their unranked status) make for an easy end of season SOS.

Wow. Um. No. I'm pretty sure we're headed straight for 2-2 in these last 4 games. Unless A&M is dragging it WAY down, Clemson and Ugag shouldn't be seen as that easy. It does confirm though that our schedule SUCKED both in terms of the teams we played and the order we had to play them. #thanksACC

Review that piece again. If you look at how they measure it, it does not say we have the 2nd easiest remaining schedule. It only looks that way because they ranked our schedule to this point extremely high (10th).

It's highly misleading.

It says we have the 60th most difficult schedule in the country for the remaining games, not the 2nd easiest.

We're ranked second in the difference in difficulty from our first eight games compared to the remaining four.

Yeah, just noticed that 2nd easiest in terms of SOS differential not overall SOS. Guess that answers my own question as to why it seemed strange.

So running the gauntlet of Elon, Duke, UNC, Syracuse and Virginia earned us the 10th hardest schedule in the nation?

LOL wut?

Also no, that's what dropped us down. Playing 6-2 VPI, 6-2 BYU, and 7-0 Miami is what got us 10th. And 6-2 Duke...

I think it has to do with playing so many conference games early on, at 6 conference games we have to be one of the teams with the most conference games played. Most of the other teams scheduled patsies to start the year, and also got the patsies on the conference slate, since conferences like to put higher profile teams in later contests.

Pretty much every school has at least one Elon on their schedule, if not more. When UNC, Syracuse, and uva are the weakest teams you played, and you also played a number of 2 or less loss teams (Duke, Miami, VT, BYU), your schedule is gonna be a lot tougher than those of other teams.

Most teams have at least 2, if not 3 or 4, OOC games on their schedule that are easier than BYU, and those games are typically have already been played.

We had the 10th most difficult schedule in football through now? Wow.

Anyway, it seems to be saying our remaining schedule, relative to our schedule until now, is second easiest. That is probably because of how high it has ranked our schedule until now.
