We Played Well

Trying to tell if this is a sarcastic post or not. Did you watch the rest of the game?

Our DL and OL has to get stronger and we have to have better depth to be able to play four quarters with a team that can recruit pretty much anyone. Unfortunately, DL and OL type players generally aren't the brightest bulbs in the pack (recruiting wise) so we suffer there since we just can't get them. We were dominated on the lines - especially our DL as the game unfolded. We had no MLB presence in the game. We just don't have the players. The corners and safeties can only do so much when the QB has 5+ seconds to look over the field because our DL's have been pancaked.

Pretty much all this. ugag wore our D down and their athleticism on D won out over our inability to make blocks when needed.

This boils down to a choke job, but I was proud of how our guys played. Vad looked a lot better in this game. This game, and hopefully a good bowl performance, has me optimistic for next year.

I knew it was over when we missed that fg.

LOL, you sound like my wife. She was all like at least they played well. I almost wanted to slap her. Then I realized it is just entertainment.

what is entertainment ...the game or slapping the wife?

Who gives a öööö if we played well?

We lost.

Uh... Anybody that isn't a dumbass. They still lost, which sucks, but I was pretty encouraged finally seeing us make somebody pay in the passing game.

This wasn't a 51-7, 42-10, or even a 31-17. We played really well all game and just got outmanned at the end. It hurts bad, but it is a hell of a lot better than getting blown out. It is possible to be proud of the players and still upset about the loss, you know.

It was really disheartening to watch this group of players who have endured so much negativity from their own fans, media, and everyone else not be able to cap off a great effort. Unfortunately they failed to make the play to win the game. There were several opportunities to make game sealing plays and we just came up short.

It just doesn't get much more disappointing. 20-0...with the ball...like a stake through the heart.

Not trying to be a jerk-but--(a friend heard this comment leaving BDS) "next year we'll spot 'em 4 TD's before we stomp their a$$". Well for me "we played well" just don't cut it! It's way past time to stop being Ugags patsy and start playing GREAT. Yeah-easy said, hard to do--right? I don't have an answer, just venting my rage at losing AGAIN! But--saying we played "well" don't work for me. If we played like crap, we still lost--WE LOST AGAIN!

You sure? Normally they have SEC refs in Atlanta and ACC refs in Athens for these games...

I know they usually do. But ACC officials ref'ed the GT/UGA game yesterday and I think they refereed the Clemson/SC game yesterday also.

FWIW, Gary Patterson was the head of the officiating crew yesterday for our game yesterday and he was the head official in the ACCCG when we played FSU last year.

We played well enough to lose. That is the bottom line. Why should we be proud of the players for coming out and playing their asses off in the biggest game of the year? Isn't that what we should expect of them? Don't get me wrong I was glad to see that they did but there is absolutely no moral victory at all in this choke. I was at the game yesterday screaming my ass off, more so than any game this season. However even up 20-0 and 27-17 with under 10 minutes remaining, I knew in the back of my head we would find some way to blow it. That thought suddenly went away briefly when we scored the TD to go up in the first OT. I actually thought our D would rise up and make a stop so we could finally send those barking mother fuc.kers home crying. What happened? Gurley 4 carries 50 yards, 13 points. Our D rolled over and took it up the ass when it mattered most. It is pathetic but not in the least bit surprising. I have accepted the fact that we are not gonna beat the dawgs again in the foreseeable future. I guess I should be happy that I saw a great football game.

We have to got to be the only school in the country that has fans who are pleased with moral victories against their hated rivals.

+1

Late in the first, right after that weird play where uga took a knee hoping to get a defensive offsides, it looked like Gurley fumbled. Anyone else see that?

I think if you retitled the thread, "At least this year it wasn't a dumpster fire" everyone probably would have agreed and moved on.
