Vad Lee

Vad played well other than wetting the bed on that throw. His emotions get the best of him sometime. Looks like he's trying not to mess up rather than just ball out. He'll settle down next year and become a legend.

Vad played the first half with his hair on fire. He made some really questionable decisions sprinkled throughout the second half. I think if he plays a whole game like he played the first half, we'll never have trouble on offense.

Will he ever? Hell if I know. I don't think he's demonstrated Reggie Ball levels of futility yet, though.

From the stands it seemed like he focused on his first target and ignored everything else on designed pass plays. It worked out more often than not but I think we left some points on the table a couple of times.

That said, I won't be rewatching the tape to confirm my theory. Vad's not the reason we lost, anyway. We're simply not equipped to compete with UGA in football.

Or vt, um, CU and next year one of unc / puke

VL not even on the radar of the things wrong with GT football.

He's the worst QB of the Paul Johnson era. That puts him on the radar.

He's not Reggie Ball yet. But the numbers are pretty comparable. We'll see how badly he chokes next year vs UGA.

Not Reggie Ball, but he's definitely still making poor decisions. He threw off his back foot a few times yesterday, and the result was bad each time. Fade aways work in basketball, but not football.

Oh, and he still can't run the option ... that's a bit of an issue.

I heard a completely unsubstantiated internet rumor that he was strongly leaning towards transferring after the year. Anyone else heard this?

It seemed like he was reading in the first half, but transitioned more to designated plays by the second half. He focused so much on godhigh that he missed some open guys.

There was a second down and ~12 play where he picked up 10 and then stepped out of bounds rather than fight for the extra 2. Tough to have get behind him after that, honestly, especially when the rest of the team is playing so passionately (can't count the number of times I was amazed by Godhigh yesterday.)

He's not Reggie, but I have to agree with Beej. At this point I think it's fairly clear that all of us who were clamoring for him to start over Tevin last year were wrong. He has probably been the most disappointing thing about our team this season.

He runs like he is in combat boots--definitely NOT and option QB! (and utterly ridiculous in CPJ's offense)

Beestorm needs to start changing titles like helluva engineer and Dodd Like to idiots and dumbasses. Dumb ass post.

Vad's big win was Duke! I remember Reggie Ball made some mistakes but at least he beat some good teams - Auburn 2x, Miami & Clemson off the top of my head. I guess Vad has two more years...

I've heard the same thing too. If he does I'm sure his new coach will make him look like a real QB.

You are an idiot. No other QB in the Johnson era make those throws Vad hit in the first half. This loss falls 150% on the defense not being able to hold a 20 point lead period.

Too be honest, Vad should have went to Duke. But who would have guessed Duke would be a 10 win team? I think his skill set fits Coach Cutcliffe's system better than Tech's. The TO is not for the timid.

I wish the best for Vad. He seems like a good kid. I just think he is a sore fit for this system. Maybe bring on Nesbitt on as a QB coach to teach him how to run without fear.

If you don't think Vad had a good game last night then you don't know jack öööö about football.

He threw better in this game than any other CPJ QB. He also needed to throw more than any other CPJ QB to have any success, and he did not throw like that in any other game this season.

In terms of results, scoring points consistently, not style points for pretty spirals or single highlight runs, he is arguably the worst. Does not mean he won't get better if he can stop the mistakes, keep up the passing performance AND make good reads in the base offense.

Yes, the defense was unable to get a stop when it needed to do so. But other CPJ teams only needed two or three stops in a game to win because the offense consistently held the ball and scored.

I guess i am still grading CPJ teams on a curve. I expect more from the offense than the defense.

I typically agree with you but he's only a sophomore. He still has a large body of work to determine his legacy.

There were 3 plays that I was disappointed in. The first was a 2nd and long where he just ran out of bounds where I believed he could've lowered his shoulder for a first down. The second was the pass play where sims was running free for an obvious TD. And then obviously the INT. Other than that I feel like he played a pretty good game.
