OFFICIAL Signing Day Thread

Myles Autry was big because we've needed a good finish to our recruiting after a number of disappointing previous finishes. Need I mention Corn Elder, Dalvin Tomlinson, Stephon Tuitt, etc.? This recruiting finish--keeping our best commits and picking up a couple four-stars--is a much needed jolt of positive energy.

Yes, and also explains the disappearance of the CTR Hater Squad.

Go follow a factory school if that's what you care about. I hear Uga has room on their bandwagon. Walmart has plenty of cheap merchandise, too.

so the 53 teams ahead of us are all factory schools?

No, but that's 53 teams you could follow if it makes you feel better on signing day. There are probably 53 different antidepressant drugs on the market that might help, too.

The recruiting sites will not reward us with stars. They are all in on their stars being evidence of a team's downfall. They will not help us if they can, because Johnson takes such a public stance against them. I do not expect to have any highly rated classes while he is here solely due to that fact. This sort of personal beef should not affect their professionalism, but it undoubtedly does.

The athleticism of the players we have in this class is at a level we have not seen since Johnson's arrival. There is a lot of quality in this class, despite what the star-count would lead you to believe. Judge the quality for yourself, rather than the word of someone else, and you can see that we have a good group of football players in this class, as well as fine young men.

Paul Johnson will get fired after next season, the next coach will immediately succeed with this class, then I'll have to listen to the same öööö with different names for seven more years. I can feel it, coming in the air tonight. Oh Lord.

This is my nightmare

Did Gailey have the same public attitude as CPJ toward recruiting sites?

I do not follow recruiting enough to know that the athleticism in this class is greater than in previous years. So all I have to go off of is from people who spend their professional lives doing so....like the recruiting sites. Just from what it appears we picked up a few good ones (Steph Durham, Autry, CJ Legget). But unless you know something the recruiting sites don't.....I am gonna say we have a roughly 50th ranked recruiting class, which is very mediocre. I hope these kids develop into better players than what they were graded as....that is for sure.

And our consistent .500 play against BCS level competition (and poor results against UGA, Clem, Mia, VT) reinforces the recruiting rankings we're seeing each year.

I think if you compare their film to other kids, and their performances in summer camps, you will see that a lot of the ratings are questionable, at least as they apply to the collegiate level. I think the Austin twins will be very good DB's for us, they may not be good professional DB's, but I think they'll be very good at the collegiate level.

To be honest the recruit I'm most intrigued by in terms of their future is Matthew Jordan. He could be the QB that really gets us going (JT will be good too I think). I think he's severly unheralded, especially based on the fact that he'll play in our option offense.

I think the signing of Kenderius Whitehead is huge news for us, and he'll be an immediate difference maker on the line.

Trey Klock's film and attitude are very positive.

The guy's don't rate recruits for a living, they sell subscriptions for a living.
