Much needed pickup at BB. Sigh of relief for that position following the Custis issues.

MLD certainly burns up yardage.he has knack of making guys miss on 1st cut.Not a super-burner fast but good.
My only concern seeing tape is that he now gets the ball 5yds back every run and picks his hole with a LOT of cutting to outside. At bback he has a MUCH shorter decision time and sometimes none.Plus at 205 ,he won't be running over LBs that he meets at bback..

I think a running back's freshman 15 is a little bit different than the rest of us received.

I know I come across as the ultra positive dude when it comes to this kind of thing. I usually just don't say anything if it's negative even though I'm thinking it. Don't feel it does any good for or to anyone. That's just my way of thinking.

Like this one a lot! He has a way of getting through the line bouncing it outside to the edge. That's something we've really missed since Dwyer. Some RB need the help of the coach to get them on the edge to start with. Some have that ability to see the field and know when to cut. Tony Holllings was the best I've seen at GT even though it was a short career. Mikell seems to have that ability. I'm good with his speed especially when the lights are on. Some have good speed running around in there undies and some have it with a football in their hands. He seems to be that type with it in his hands. He really runs with purpose.

Like this young man a lot!!

Congrats to Mr. MLD.

Keep up the good work and you'll do well.

he will be 225 when he plays. You don't run over good LBs; corners and safeties maybe.

Great pick up! He needs to learn to carry the ball in his left hand when it's appropriate.

I like him fine but if 5-11,205 now, I got $50 saying he won't reach 225.No other back has had a 10% weight gain that I know at Tech that is under 6 ft.

Your assuming that he's really 205 also. I don't think he'll ever see 225 either. We'll know in 5 years though how it pans out. Good luck to the kid in his senior year!

you might go back and READ again. It says SIX ft tall. Dwyer was 6ft !So he doesn't count, duh.
My point is shorter guys don't put on weight as easily.:bowrofl:

Maybe he is not done growing and can add another inch.

RBs from 2013 NFL Combine list.

C.J. Anderson California 5-8 224 9.08

Zach Boren Ohio State 5-11 238 10.08

Knile Davis Arkansas 5-10 227 8.58

Mike James Miami 5-10 223 9.68

Eddie Lacy Alabama 5-11 231 9.48
Marcus Lattimore South Carolina 5-11 221 9.78

Christine Michael Texas A&M 5-10 220 9.38
Lonnie Pryor Florida State 5-11 227 8.38

Spencer Ware LSU 5-10 228 9.58

Just because he is a GT Recruit doesn't mean he can't get to 225. Actually 215 - 220 might be a better playing weight.
