Oh come on... There might be 10% of the student body that wouldn't have gone to UGA if they'd been accepted. Probably more like 5%.

The same goes for GCSU.

There is some intersection of those two sets (and to see Southern fans, in the past, skip out on a pivotal conference game at Paulson because the Mutts were on was nauseating and odious), but Tech scores, especially when Tech is winning, have largely been greeted warmly by fans at the "prettiest little stadium in America." Georgia scores have gotten a mixed reaction.

But believe me, there are some Southern fans and alums with very strong antipathy toward all things UGa. The intersection of those two sets, UGA and real GSU fans, isn't as big as you might think.

Besides, the academic relationship between GT and GSU, going back to its GSC days, has been strong, especially with the 2-2 or 3-2 programs.

There are some Southern fans who reacted negatively, and perhaps crossed the lines of acceptable behavior, after PJ left for Navy and CJM left for West Point. It was a nearly unanimous hailing of BVG as a savior initially. But he quickly cured all of that erroneous notion. Even if a scant few folks (ahem) had tried to caution the GSU faithful otherwise.

Interestingly week 3 against us may be a little tougher than you think. We know your offense so it won't be a surprise for us and I like our odds of defending it. On the other side our offense had no trouble moving up and down the field on NC state as we dominated them for 3+ quarters. Unfortunately there are 4 quarters in football and we let them off the hook with a couple of critical mistakes late. Anyhow, I look for a low scoring game with the game being decided in the fourth. It could come down to a FG here or there and we do look much improved in that department. Just dropping by and I hope to meet some of yall up there next weekend as we seek to become the best team in the state(by proxy assuming yall beat thUGA) I think this should be a really well-attended game.
