However, you can download the NCAA bylaws, which I did, and bylaw 12.1.2.1.6 says nothing of the sort. In fact I searched the document and nothing like that is in the bylaws. So what the hell is their source on that? If someone told the journalists those were the possible punishments, they should say "According to our source X..." instead of "According to NCAA Bylaw 12.1.2.1.6". Wretched journalism.NCAA Bylaw 12.1.2.1.6 sets specific guidelines for such penalties:
1. Value of the benefit ranges from greater than $100 to $400 = withholding of 10 percent (of games) and repayment;
2. Value of the benefit ranges from greater than $400 to $700 = withholding of 20 percent (of games) and repayment;
3. Value of benefit ranges greater than $700 = withholding of 30 percent (of games) and repayment.
Words that Drad should have taken to heart.This was easy to see coming. Just self report and comply with the NCAA and you get off easy.
This is the same guy that thinks that the UF Illuminati is behind all of Todd Gurley's autographs. Until there's additional verification, it's useless.
It's bylaw 16.11.2.1By the way, AJC's article that everyone cited about Gurley's possible punishments has a critical factual error. It says:

You should work for the AJC.It's bylaw 16.11.2.1
Withholding of 10% etc is the punishment.You should work for the AJC.
Still don't see anything about the possible punishments there, though.
Withholding of 10% etc is the punishment.
I was trying to figure out by digging into the bylaws if UGA would have to vacate games played after Gurley accepted benefits. To me it seems like he would be ineligible as soon as he accepted improper benefits, but maybe he is only ineligible when the NCAA declares him ineligible? I'm confused on this.If uga acted on this as soon as they found out about it, then maybe that's the only punishment. Dunno...
YesDoes it say that in the bylaws?
Where? I just did a text search on "$400" and "10%". Nothing related.
How do you figure? They gave it to a crab leg stealing rapist last year. Who also, apparently, signed a bunch of shirts for money.Well, he still cost himself the heisman, so there is that.
They won without him and handily, and he dropped well down in the Heisman perception for being suspended during the season. He's also not a quarterback. Also Famous stole his crabs after he won the Heisman.How do you figure? They gave it to a crab leg stealing rapist last year. Who also, apparently, signed a bunch of shirts for money.
