NFL MVP Rankings:
1st: Aaron Rodgers - JuCo transfer
2nd: JJ Watt - Walk on
3rd: Tony Romo - Div. 1AA.

22 Super Bowl starters - 0 five star recruits

I love our recruiting class.

Let's do the same for BCS bowls/playoff games. You know, games college teams actually play in.

I love our recruiting class too, but these numbers don't mean much.

Bama had nineteen starters rated 4 or higher (counting both sides of the ball).

FSU had seventeen.

Ohio State had fifteen.

Oregon had ten.

I do think that recruiting stars are overrated though. I'm sure there were plenty of teams with double digit 4/5 stars who were ranked lower than us at season end.

44.3% of 5-stars get drafted. 16% are first rounders. I wouldn't turn one down.

Also convenient that while the rosters may not have a 5-star on it they both have a smattering of 4-stars on them. I wouldn't turn down a 4-star, either.

I love our recruiting class.

Does that mean the other 22 Super Bowl starters were five star recruits?

The opposing position is that there are dozens of teams that run essentially the same offense in Division 1. Of those teams, the ones with the 4* and 5* recruits tend to be at the top of the rankings at the end of the season (we can have a chicken-and-egg debate).
