Johnson's Top 5 Wins

Those two GT games he listed were pretty good, but I would put GT vs UGA 2008 and GT vs UGA 2014 above the ACCCG in 2009.

You can tell Johnson really loves to beat Beamer and Foster. Let's hope he gets another one this year.

That being said the atmosphere at the 2009 VPI game was likely something that hasn't been replicated yet. We may get that way this season if we play the way I think we can.

I think he likes beating someone who has a good scheme against him more than he likes beating higher ranked opponents.

I'd put the UNC game at BDS in there. The one where it was pouring rain and CPJ calls a timeout for no other reason than to make Butch Davis stand in the rain.

I would love to experience another game like that this year. Bobby Dodd was electric that night.

Under the PJ regime:

FSU 2009
VT 2009
UGA 2008, 2014
MSU 2014(15)

Though it was the Orange Bowl, I'd have to take that huge Klimpsun 2011 upset over MSU. The miracle on North Avenue (F&U 2008) was the real nail biter.

my favorite games of the CPJ era would probably be 2008 UGA, 2009 VT, 2008 Miami, 2009 UNC, 2011 Clemson

From #1 to #5:

UGA 2008 (come-from-behind win against the preseason national champs, in Athens, in the rain, prevented them from tying our 8-straight record, and all of that after we were predicted to go 4-8)

UGA 2014 (absolute miracle)

MSU 2014 (huge, huge win on a national stage)

VT 2009 (still the best home game I've ever attended)

Clemson 2011 (Jemea Thomas was a beast)

The writer said that 2009 VPI was our first win over a top 5 team since 1962. I know we beat Miami in 2005 when they were #3 and it's possible that Alabama was top 5 when we played them in 1981. Also, what was South Carolina ranked when they came to BDS at something like 8 - 0 and we were not good at all. The score was something like 34 -3 Tech at the half.

Miami was #3 when we Gaileyed them. UVa was #1 in 1990, iirc.

I think the VPI was first home win over top 5 team since the 60's.

All the way TURNT up!

Pretty sure tech got yelled at after that season for having the music too loud. That was awesome though. The best was Kam Chancellor getting lit up all night after saying he figured out our offense.

Mine are as follows:

1. 2009 VPI - crowd was electric. Rushed the field with my dad.

2. 2014 UGA. I watched in Athens. I'm still alive.

3. 2008 Miami - very electric

4. 2009 Clemson ACCCG - I was there. It was awesome.

5. 2014 Miami - great atmosphere. Almost got into a fight with a Miami fan that threatened to throw me over the railing on to bobby Dodd way. This is the second consecutive home game against Miami that I have come close to fighting Miami fans. The after party in the RV lot until 4 in the morning was epic. Sang David Allan Coe out loud.

Did I mention I hate Miami?
