7-11...

I think my favorites (in no particular order)

1) 2014 Orange Bowl
2) 1998 Gator Bowl
3) 2012 Sun Bowl

Worst...

1) 2008 Chick-Fil-A
2) 2011 Sun Bowl
3) 2006 Gator Bowl

i could give two öööös about 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010

2000 LSU hurt worse than 2008 LSU. Everyone thought we would curb stomp LSU and we played an absolutely atrocious game. That game set the tone for the following year let down. Although 2008 LSU was almost as miserable. I was at both games.

The 2nd half of the 2000 game was absolutely miserable. I only remember 3 things: Godsey getting hurt, making Rohan Davey look unstoppable, and how impossibly loud those LSU fans were. All of it was miserable.

On the flipside am I the only person that would've had the Carquest Bowl at #3 on the list?

Rohan Davey was literally smoking cigarettes and limping around the field while tossing completion after completion.

Ok, I lied. Obviously, Notre Dame, USC and MS State are highlights. I also thoroughly enjoyed the meaningless thrashings of Tulsa and Syracuse. But, man, there are some godawful losses in there. Did we really lose to Fresno St. twice? Air Force? Utah twice, once in a blowout?

Iowa and LSU were big letdowns. I loved our bowl streak and am sad to see it go, but the bowls themselves had very few highlights and a good bit of hot garbage.

1997 Carquest - Attended. Cold in Miami.
1998 Gator - Attended. Fun game, love beating ND in their green jerseys.
1999 Gator - Attended. Sad way for Joe Ham to go out.
2000 Peach - Attended. Frustrating. Got food poisoning from the Vortex before the game.
2001 Seattle - Missed. Figures it was a quality win.
2002 Silicon Valley - Missed. Not too sad about it.
2003 Humanitarian - Missed. Figures it was a fun win.
2004 Champs Sports - Attended. Enjoyed this one.
2005 Emerald - Attended. Miserable.
2006 Gator - Attended. Saw the WVU fan take a dump in the band section.
2007 Humanitarian - Attended. Good trip, miserable game, team had 0 fight or motivation.
2008 CFA - Attended. Sucked again.
2009 Orange - Attended. Cold in Miami again.
2010 Independence - Attended. Highlight was watching AF's falcon bug out before the game.
2011 Sun - Attended. Another good trip, terrible game.
2012 Sun - Missed. Had tickets, got sick and had to cancel right before my flight. Figures it was a quality win.
2013 Music City - Attended. Ugh.
2014 Orange - Attended. Good one to go out on.

Personal bowl record: 4-10, if I'm counting right. Remember when we used to have a great bowl winning percentage?

I could not be more different than from those who think this streak did not matter. We get 12 chances a year to enjoy winning a football game. Winning 6 is a whole lot better than winning 3 or 4. Looking forward to one more game in a bowl does matter. Sure, I would rather win 10 than 6, but I'll take a winning season to a losing every time. This season has been awful, and it's the first truly awful season we have experienced in nearly 20 years.

Yes, looking back on the bowl streak it seems GT lost that distinction somewhere between 2007-2008, I can't remember now. Tech is now 11th.

It is insane to me that the year after our biggest bowl win in decades, we drop the streak and have our worst record in 20 years.

I'll still take the second group and this season to the first group for 15 years.

Can we just pretend we're still in the orange bowl?

Couldn't care less about the bowl "streak." Half the FBS goes to a bowl every year, and half the trips in our streak were everybody-gets-a-trophy jokes handed out to a team that lost 4, 5, and even 6 (lol!) games.

I'd still rather be in the half of FBS that goes than the half that doesn't. (And if it's so easy to go to a bowl every year, how come only two teams have currently done it as much as we have?)

It's less about the subjective ease or difficulty of getting to a öööö bowl an arbitrary number of times in a row and more about the fact that all but two of them were in fact öööö bowls. And even the Orange Bowls meant nothing in the grand scheme because there were no championships at stake.

If people want to pretend that finishing second or lower every year is worthy of praise, ok?

It's telling how many of our OLmen stay upright throughout all of the plays you highlight above. You don't see anyone diving around like a goddamned beached fish, flopping on the ground. Diving at ankles is asinine.
