My sources...

I would play at USC (the real one in California) if I were a hotshot west coast QB - after that, maybe UCLA, Washington or somewhere like that.

The coaching uncertainty probably ruled out USC, as did the NFL failures of their recent QB's, since Eason's dad seems to be so obsessed with that. UCLA would be a fine choice with Mora Jr.

McGarity should have fired Richt after the bowl and Eason's enrollment.

I think McGarity was getting pressured from bigtime boosters that wanted Smart and no-one else, and got worried that he USCe may get to him first.

My brother-in-law knows a bartender, who once flew on a plane with Jacob Easons dogsitter, who told him that Jacob Eason told him he was flipping to UF. The next great messiah at UGAg could possibly not be at UGAg.

Don't we know that if it's on SDS, then it has to be true?
Billy Payne is delivering the cash to Washington this afternoon. Eason is a mutt.

I wonder if Eason will back off on his plans to early enroll to wait and let the dust settle a bit.

Seems crazy to me that the West coast schools wouldn't be higher on his preference list.

I grew up on the west coast. They don't care about college football there. They barely care about the NFL. Look at LA -- doesn't even have a team.

If he really wanted to go up against corners to prepare him for the NFL, wouldn't he be better off in the sec west, to face bammy and LSU all the time?

They have an elite true freshman QB already. Doubt Eason is going to want to go somewhere that realistically already has their starting quarterback locked up for the next two years.

If this dude is that afraid of competition then why would we want him to change his commitment? A couple of days of mutthurt if he changes and potentially months/years of mutthurt if he ends up on campus.

This kid sounds like hes picking a school based on how well it will prepare him for the pros. With Bobo leaving last year and Richt leaving this year it would be strange to still pick UGA for any other reason. With Smart headed to Athens I doubt they run anything but the pro set, but do you risk partnering up with an OC you don't have a relationship with? And given Bama/Saban's track record of using QBs as game managers, do you risk Smart doing the same?

My money is on him flipping, but I doubt he'll do it until Smart picks an OC and pitches him on staying.

Does he have an offer from Alabama? Where better to get ready for the pros...

Widely known that his plan is to play in the SEC due to the corner backs he will see. His dad has commented that they are the closest to NFL corners that he can play against in college. Part of the reason you want see him follow St. Richt to Miami.

What kind of logic is it that you want to play against good CBs as a success path to the NFL.

Wouldn't you want to go play for someone that has a proven track record of developing QBs that play in the NFL?

YOU GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR LOGIC!!!! (Makes sense to me.)

They seem to be really after the young man from Houston Co, Jake Fromm.

Know that doesn't answer your question. Not sure about relationship with Bama and Eason.

I think the joke is that Alabama hasn't had a starting QB in the pros in something like 30 years.

As I was saying earlier, I think there's a reason for this. Top QBs wanna go to a place where they can be showcased. This isn't a school in the SEC because there you just hand it off.

Also important to note is that a kids QB skill in high school is not a reliable indicator of how well they will perform in college or the NFL. There are many data points to highlight that.

Alabama QB handed the ball to Henry 58 times against Auburn. He could be an NFL hander offer.
