Willie Fritz leaving Southern

No insuation. Paper is not rock, both are fine, but different. Faculty at Tulane might be better paid and more "accomplished". Just saying....
And the drive through dacquari shops are tough to beat...

At least Southern plays in front of a stadium that is close to sold out every weekend. How would Tulane have fared against West Virginia, Western Michigan and Georgia this year? We saw how they played Tech last year and how would Tulane have done against Navy and NC State last year?

Granted, the AAC is a better league than the Sun Belt. But the bottom of the AAC isn't better than the top of the Sun Belt. Football means something at Southern and in Statesboro. It doesn't seem to mean a whole lot at Tulane at the moment.

Academically, the top students at Southern can hold their own with the top students anywhere. Are there as many at Southern as at other places? Maybe not, but the best there can be the best anywhere. For instance, my senior year roommate. Southern grad. Got a PhD from Duke. My other senior year roommate? Went to vet school (at Georgia, unfortunately) and has a huge practice.

Tulane's top academic students >>>> GA Southern's.

Top academic talent doesn't choose to attend Southern over Tulane or other better schools. It's comical to even make that argument.

As a Southern grad, I can say this is definitely not true. I've attended nearly every home game the past 3 years. One of them was sold out.

Maybe you're referring to before the expansion on the stadium? Since the expansion, the only game I've seen sell out is 2014 vs crApp St.

I wouldn't agree with that. I went to high school with several people who could have went to better universities, but still decided to go to a commuter school.
 
Depends on what you think education is. I had a scholarship to almost any school I wanted to go to but I chose Southern. I have a documented high IQ as well, but I'm one of those guys who thinks education is a piece of crap and holds no meaning. Most of my GT friends aren't on Stingtalk swinging imaginary brass balls around like most people on here. Well, at least during the offseason.

I said close.

The Thursday games - thanks, Sun Belt - haven't been. But the Saturday games have had pretty big crowds since the expansion.
 
You're absolutely right. Because anyone who didn't go to Tech is a pure, pharmaceutical grade dumbass.

The difference is that a poor choice in vehicles doesn't affect the rest of your life like a poor choice in colleges.

Attending Georgia Southern over, say, Duke is like getting a face tattoo then entering the business world.

Haven't had the opportunity to attend a game since the expansion, but I would agree with you that it's close to sold out. Of course, the games that end up on TV are the ones are unusually vacant.

I simply wanted an in state school that was far enough away to enjoy some semblance of independence. UGA is, well, UGA. Chemical Engineering was as close to anything that GT offered that I found interesting. Other than that, I'm not attending GT "just because." UGA students do that already.
