Flipped from Tennessee. Dabo building a dynasty.

They picked up NC's #1 player yesterday, Wake Forest High DL Dexter Lawrence, ranked as high as #2 nationally. They are getting a WR from Greenville Rose up here who is terrific. "Datboy" is cleaning up here in NC with three of the top 20 already. Only UNC has three so far.

Dabo Swinney and Scott Cochran - a combined voice that speaks to all languages of a 3rd grade reading comprehension

The crazy thing is Dabo won't even get hired away from Clemson b/c everybody knows he's just a talking head who somehow appeals to 17 year olds. He might go down as the most successful coach of all time that nobody else would hire. You put that guy at UVA, Duke, Cuse, Pitt, BC, WF, NCSU, UNC, or even Tech and it's a dumpster fire in 2/3 years. But put him at a place that's easy to recruit to and easy to keep players eligible then his model of paying coordinators almost as much as he makes seems to = wins.

That's a pretty good model. Go get the best players, then get the best coordinators by throwing a pile of money at them. Then profit.

we need to somehow make the girls at Clemson less attractive, and dump toxic waste in that stupid lake.

I think this is a bit naïve. It reminds me of Trump. Lots of folks are willing to vote for him even though they think he is obnoxious and not that sharp. However, many feel he will makes changes AND surround himself with good people and that's all that matters sometime. See Bobby Dodd by the way.

Can't wait to hear Dabo's on-air dissertation of this kid come National Signing Day.

That's true to a degree, but unfairly minimizes what Dabo has done. Clemson has been mediocre for like 30 years, ever since Danny Ford left. And Danny Ford had to cheat 1980s SEC-style to do what he did.

I don't think he would be the best fit at any of the places you named, but I no longer think he would be a dumpster fire, either. He would undoubtedly recruit better than those schools normally do, and his players don't get into trouble like you see at Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, etc.

At this point I don't even know what evidence people have to justify the idea that he's a bad X's and O's coach. They have been very good on both sides of the ball, under multiple coordinators.

Lol. Dude has turned a hot mess program into a powerhouse, and you can't accept the fact that he's done a great job? Get a clue.

He's one of the better coaches in the country, he's run that program nearly perfectly and gotten people to buy-in every step of the way. There are a ton of schools around the country that would love to have Dabo Swinney on their sideline.

I am still looking for a black couple to name their kid "Hunter". That would mess up everybody

Because his name is Dabo & he talks like a hick. Reverse racism at its finest.

Yep. I'm mystified why people continue to ridicule him and diminish his success. What's he's done is to get everyone, from the BOR to the president, the AD, the coaches, the athletes, down to the students all on the same page and that's not easy.

That's what it takes to win a championship.

He's a fantastic recruiter who has managed to win as many ACC championships as Paul Johnson has.

No criticism of him. He costs too much to work here. The AA wouldn't give him enough $$ to hire the coordinators, and I don't think anyone can bring in that level of talent here.

That said, given the right environment (i.e., any factory school) and enough time, he'd win. He's a great CEO for a football program.

Still wouldn't trade him for Johnson... That's what works here, 2015 being the rare exception.

I don't hate Dabo at all. I think he's done great at Clemson and will likely continue to do well there. That doesn't change the fact that it's fun to celebrate his gooberish ways. If anyone tells me I can't enjoy this gif just because he's a good head coach, they can öööö right off.

You missed his first 2.5 seasons. They lost to us twice in 2009 because of his boneheaded calls.

According to Dabo, the fake fg turned punt wasn't his call. According to Tarrant, Dabo was pointing where he wanted the punt to go, so Tarrant stood there fielded the punt and ran it back. It is pretty clear who was telling the truth there.
Dabo was also would change plays but not blocking schemes getting his qb and rb killed.

It is only when Dabo went Bobby Bowden that Clemson took off. More power to him, it takes a big man to know his limits. Dabo has worked wonders recruiting and motivating. He's done great allowing his coordinators to run their end of things. Dabo isn't completely hands off. He clearly prefers the soread offense. He hasn't tried to turn Clemson into a power running team.

Dabo would do great at UTx and most any non-big 10 state school.
