New QB Commit

Vad would have been one of the best if he had the ability to make the TO reads needed to run the offense. I don't think you can tell that one way or the other from that film.

I agree totally, I think he has a stronger arm than Vad and just loved the straight-arm at the 1:45 mark on the tape ...

I also thought his highlight tape looked a lot like Vad's. I agree this does not mean he won't learn to be effective running our offense. But, Vad's time here taught us that a good QB running our spread option with the A and B backs and QB under center requires a different skill set from a QB in a shot gun, one back, read option offense. For our offense the first two skills I look for are quick feet and good ball handling skills. In the other offense you look for speed and arm strength.
Agree. One of the collateral issues with Vad was the pressure PJ felt to try to extend the offense for Vad's skill set. That set our offense back. JT was/is a better fit for the 3O.

Best news in a while. Time to call in Alec Baldwin.

Man, his O line sure gives him time to throw.

Any of them got offers?

We don't like recruiting those type of olineman.
We prefer recruiting up and coming Matadors and training them to play Oline.
