If he doesn't announce tomorrow, it's safe to assume he'll never play another down of football in his life. Call it the curse of Akinji.
There are two things I know at expert level. One is energy forecasting and the other one is black moms.
We got this.
Hmmmm, ok Akinji , sounds like there's some history there
Stanford has a hard minimum (not common) of 1500 for all athletes. If you score below you are not qualified to go, if you score at or above then it depends on your competitiveness - grades, extra curricular, SAT score.
1500 is not a good score.
This kid wants to study engineering at Tech or Stanford and can't get above 1500 after multiple attempts?
I believe I recall reading it was the equivalent of 1100/1600 on the 1600 scale. That would put it at about the same as our average (believe ours is or was 1180 at one point). He took all AP courses this year and made B and above so he is good from a grades angle, it is just the score.

I'm pretty sure our average SAT score for admittance these days is 1400+ (on a 1600 scale). Or are you talking about the average SAT score for football players? if so, I'm pleasantly surprised by 1180 being the average (a lot better than most schools).
Edit: Damnit, I just accidentally involved myself in this thread in a non-mocking fashion.
Georgia Tech had the nation's best average SAT score for football players, 1028 of a possible 1600, and best average high school GPA, 3.39 of a possible 4.0. But because its student body is apparently very smart, Tech's football players still scored 315 SAT points lower than their classmates.
Just so you guys know, there's a new SAT test coming out in March 2016. It scores on a 1600 point scale (revolutionary, I know) but also has different content.
It makes complete sense to try that once before giving up completely if he's in the situation we all assume he's in.
Probably referring to this from almost 10 years ago:

Thanks - looks like we may be waiting until March or April if that is the case. When is the admissions deadline?
öööö it, lets go all in and offer him the basketball head coaching job.
