Kirby and his Helicopter

Wouldn't it show more dedication to sit in traffic 2 hours to see a kid's game?

He's flying in for 2 reasons;
1) For the reaction
2) So he can make it to another kid's game/practice as soon as he departs.

And he’s raining in top talent doing this. What’s your point?

He flew over my house landing at Mountain View HS football field. Didn't know until later who it was.

I can see the stuck up snob GT response, “the athletes that are attracted to Georgia Tech are not impressed by helicopters”. Well, they win 3-5 games a year so.

No doubt we need a better recruiting effort, and that's why we're raising money and hiring additional staff. I'm not opposed to coming up with our own recruiting gimmicks that make sense. But is anyone seriously arguing that we'd get the 5 stars if we had a helicopter of our own? Or is this tongue and cheek? Lol. The helicopter works because of the prestige of the program that's flying it, not because "ooh, helicopter!". More like we'd waste the recruiting budget fueling the thing and look like goofballs.

I’m personally not suggesting we’d change much with a chopper. But the point is something more than Paul’s salty attitude in a kids living room won’t hurt.

In that case, I don't entirely disagree. I think we need to better identify recruits nationwide who are likely to want to come here and we need a couple more Coach McCollums to close the deal. Better branding will hopefully help, too. I do think that CPJ's argument that most schools basically recruit themselves is fairly accurate. Kirby is getting top 3 classes instead of Richt's top 5 classes, (I dunno if Richt had a chopper) and he is helped greatly by the dumpster fires and coaching turmoil at Florida and Tennessee.

Changing the perception of our football team is the main thing, however we go about doing it.

How do you figure he has a salty attitude in the kids living room? How many recruiting visits have you been on?

Also what're we gonna do with your salty attitude on the board lately?

I’ve never been on a visit. Im an average height fat nerd child. The only thing Paul would ever talk to me for is for the salt bottle on my table. But Paul’s a straight forward guy and I assume that’s how he carries himself regardless of situation or company. I doubt he tries to oversell anything — IIWII for life.

I’ve said it countless times, I do not advocate for a coaching change. But I wouldn’t be opposed to one either. I think it’s going to take 2 coaching changes and many losing seasons to get out from this system. I think Pauls personality (what I see of it) is better suited as an OC and not CEO. Just my opinion.

As for my salt, I think I’m back to baseline salt levels dude. Iiwii

Mississippi State has a helicopter. Kirby is doomed if he has to recruit against them.

Hopefully Kirby starts parachuting into some of the more rural Florida areas:

Would be more badass to skydive out of a plane or heli onto the field, and I don't even think skydiving is even that cool.
