Improving Georgia Tech Athletics - Crowdsourced Ideas

I want the ability to buy remote season tickets that are donated to military personnel, kid hospitals, maybe homeless shelters, GT dining hall and cleaning staff, and new alumni.

I want the Upper North to be torn down.

I want a streaming VR gameday experience.

I want you to öööö yourself!

You do not want black outs. That didn’t end well for UGA when Alba destroyed them a few years back.

The Budweiser song is my all time fave tradition in all of college football.. fans really need to get into it instead of just the students

We are trying to get Budweiser into the stadium. Far from the old, dusty farts in the CL levels.

I don't want the UN torn down, but maybe on the öööö games cover it in Waffle House Coke with Cherry Syrup advertising.

Finally had a chance to sit and read this. While there are some really silly ideas, there are lots of good ideas there as well.

If everyone could pick the best 2 ideas from that document, what would they be?

Supporters section; ideally this would be in a renovated south end zone. Incite friendly db-type competition with students in north end zone.

Attendance incentivization.

Honorable mention: Peters parking deck greenspace

Not listed but added:

Moving the club section out of the field of view of the TV cameras. Evaluate reducing the outside club seating if people are just gonna stay inside.

Beer sales for all. HashtagEndClassWarfare.

The "Youth Athlete Engagement" idea, but I think it needs to be more generally "Youth Engagement". Give out free tickets to Atlanta area schools to help fill up the stands, let them decide how to divvy them up. Give out free GT merchandise, lunch, make it a great game-day experience. Get us some exposure, build up a local fan base. If we target athletes specifically it just sounds like a recruiting violation waiting to happen. What we really need is more fans, more brand exposure, more bodies in the seats. Giving away tickets that we can't sell anyway seems like a pretty cheap way to make that happen. I commented something to this effect in the linked goog doc.

Do I have to pick 2?

Programs are $10 now, up from $5 in 2017, and are essentially the same thing every week with a bit of stuff thrown in about the opposing team and a roster/depth chart. I bet sales declined dramatically in 2018. I know sometimes Tennessee would include a coupon for a free bag of peanuts with the purchase of a program, good for that game only. Obviously, half the folks wouldn't use it. However, perhaps some company would like the advertising of having their name on the coupon

For example, Delta Air Lines could sponsor and the coupon and the bag of peanuts would be labeled for the airline. Doesn't have to be peaunts, btw, that would just seem to be the easiest. You only get the "free" peanuts by buying the program.

From the athlete stand point, how about getting rid of the calculus requirement for majors that are not Engineering!! It would definitely open the door for more 4* and possibly 5*. Just a thought.

MGMT has a calculus requirement? You barely use simple math in a MGMT position.

Bring back the free Chick-fil-A sandwich on Mondays after the game.

Also, no more ööööty music.

Um, don't really have anything else. But I would greatly like those two things.

The MGMT calculus course is a watered down calculus for dummies class.

If you’re forced to take a class of something you’ll never use again in your life, I’d say the practical choice is to take the watered down version. Now who’s the dummy?

Empty ööööing gold seats man.

I mean do these people not know how to tailgate? You’re supposed to drink heavily before the game.

We also require a CS course for all majors. As recently as '06 all majors required the same course which was NOT easy. They have since developed more appropriate courses for majors other than CS/Engineering majors.

If it's so watered down, why do people bitch about it?
