Cottrell to have a Patriots Super Bowl ring within the next 3 years.

Brent Key's one season calling plays ended with the entire staff getting fired, him losing his head-coach-in-waiting status, and UCF putting up one of the worst statistical seasons in FBS this century. As bad as our 2015 season was, Tech scored as many points the first three games of the season as Key put up the entire year. Key sucked dick as a play caller.
They had more injuries than we did that year.

Never is a bit much. Rolling that way isn't necessarily bad, but that was a horrible play in that situation. JT was new to the game, he had just come in and was a freshman, and we had shown no ability to block Miami.
That was 2015 and JT was a junior, not new to the game.
Nor was this horrifically-designed play his fault.

Yes. Cottrell has all the potential in the world to be that Patriots player who is not league worthy on paper but makes clutch plays and you hate his guts as he wins rings. Just like Edelman and Welker.
Cole Beasley has done pretty well in that type of position. Started as an UDFA. Just signed a big contract a few weeks back.

Pretty sure that was 2013. Vad was out for some reason and JT got to come in and get smashed that play.
I think Vad fumbled 3 times in that game and was tired of being hit. He had his first thoughts of transfer that day. BTW I've never been hotter at a football game. It was brutal.

I will admit if I'm wrong, but I don't remember that being 2015. JT took over as starter in 2014. The big sack was JT being brought in for Vad during us getting an ass kicking his freshman year.
Apologies - you're right. JT didn't even play that game in 2015.

And given that you are correct, wow! what an incredibly stupid play call to make for a RH'd frosh QB!

Regarding Cottrell, I dont see him making any real impact at that position, unfortunately.

He seems to lack the body control, hands, and all around smoothness of a good slot guy. He's got straight line speed, but all we've seen of him is (usually awkwardly) catching a pitch and barreling around the outside on a sweep so straight up and out of control that he's unable to cut back or change directions before carrying himself out of bounds. There's probably a reason that he was almost literally never one of the A-backs on the field in passing situations. My eyes tell me he has bricks for hands.I can't recall a single pass ever being directed to him, actually.

I hope he's able to contribute in the new scheme somehow, but I dont think slot receiver is a good fit for him.
