If you were forced to bet on the GT v Clemson line at GT +34 with your life on the line, which side would you pick?

Poll is private. I'm genuinely curious as to what you folks think about that line. In a life or death situation, I've got to go with GT +34 myself. I really don't see a first game of the year being a blowout of those proportions.

I always bias bets towards underdogs early in the year. Just don’t know how teams are gonna look until you’re a few weeks in. Very tough not to take a P5 team that’s not Kansas State +34 against anybody.

They will have every incentive to ease up and we will have every incentive to keep attacking because we will want to create some positive vibes in the new system. Makes for a margin in the 20's when all is said and done.

Dabo consistently called off the dogs early on CPJ. We’ll see if he does the same on CGC. I think that is the only thing that keeps it under 40.

2018...hL....49-21......28 point margin
2017...aL....24-10......14
2016...hL....26-7........19
2015...aL....43-24......19
2014...hW...28-6.......22 note: Clemson QB Deshaun Watson injured his knee on first drive of 1st qtr. and did not return
2013...aL....55-31......24
2012...aL....47-31......16

Looking at these Clemson scores from the last seven years, and Tech being in a transition year with most of its starting D from last year graduated, this spread could be accurate. The final score again depends on when Clemson calls off its horses in the 2nd half, most likely.

57-7 bad guys. Too much transition too early.

National Champions. First time home. ACC game. Nation watching. Heisman QB contender. Gonna be ugly.

I'll never understand the need to qualify a Tech win like this. What kind of fan does that?

Do you not frequent the GT baseball season threads?

Exactly. Like we didn’t have had any injuries or injured players out for any of the losses? We lost Benson 2 weeks before the Clempson game last year - not worthy of a qualifier? Only a loser mentality would discount a win.

Yeah that’s bizarre. Not like Watson was tearing us up before he went down. They had like a FG in three drives before he went down. Snoddy was shredding them too before he broke his leg. So what. We still ran them.

Dabo's recent history with us indicates his team would establish dominance in the first half and then take its foot off the gas a bit. Shows some class. But I'm concerned the Death Valley crowd, drunk on a Natty, will whip the occasion into a feeding frenzy.

He was good friends with PJ and they did not legitimately compete for recruits. Now he must defend PJ’s honor and embarrass GC, who is actually trying to take a slice of his Atl recruiting stronghold. It will be ugly if he can make it that way.

Honestly, I think we compete though and keep it within the spread. Not because of Dabo letting up but because we’re prepared and will play hard.
