ACC Network / ESPN College Game Day coming to Clemson/GT

We are going to get a ton of good press before that ass kicking, though. Geoff Collins is going to make it stupid easy for these broadcasts to shoot their little fluff and hype pieces. They gone love us!

Exactly. Nothing but upside for us, here. No one expects us to be competitive, but we'll get great exposure for the new staff. Believe it or not, quite a few fans across the country still think we are a Triple Option team. Great branding opportunity here.

This. Being on a national stage, there is no better way for the college football world to see that we are not running the 3O anymore and that we play against top teams every year. It is extremely great for recruits to see this. Game outcome is really irrelevant unless we keep it tight all the way or win.

Absolutely. Nothing but positives here and I'm sure CGC will get every ounce of marketing juice out of the opportunity.
 
The start of the season always produces some surprising games. In 2016, Clemson won the NC, but in week 2 that season, they only beat Troy 30-24.

IIRC they were losing a good portion of that game.

EDIT: Nvm, I checked and they were up or tied most of the game.

Wait, is this going to be on the national stage or the ACC Network? If it is on the ACC Network most of the college football world is not going to see we are not running the 3O anymore. It will be great to be on college game day; but a huge percentage of college football fans will be flipping stations once they realize their carrier isn't an ACCNetwork subscriber.

We're going to have an hour of Gameday coverage on ESPN from 6-7, then it switches to ACCN for the remainder of pregame and the game. I'm sure they will do in-depth analysis on both teams during that part.
 
They should broadcast on ACCN for the ACCN footprint and on ESPN for the rest of the country.

And that is great coverage for us; but most of the college football world doesn't tune in 2 hrs before the game to intently watch pregame analysis for a game they can't watch.

I think you may have sadly underestimated most college football fans. There is the UF/Miami game on 8/24 along with a handful of other nobodies playing, but then on Thursday night, there is nothing else on besides preseason NFL. I believe there will be a rather large TV audience for this Gameday as well as the game itself. ACCN will likely be in most markets by then.
