Center Issues

I’ve seen him play and I understand why.
And how's that? He actually played well. Here's the condensed game. He goes in at about the 5 minute mark. Before that, it is almost scary watching how much pain Cooper was in, collapsing on a few plays. Lay blocked well and his snaps, while not perfect, were mostly on target.

Of course, I realize you're really just being an asshole.

If one or both of the top 2 centers are unavailable this week, why wouldn't we use the long snapper, Jack Coco. He has the necessary size and the ability to snap accurately under pressure.
Who is the backup center behind Cooper?

Apparently it’s William Lay. Chet Lagod got a lot of time there as well. So did one of the Morgan brothers but I can’t remember which one.

Bro. What happens if your long snapper gets hurt? How are you going to punt?

Should he have been ready to play. Yep. That’s what ATL is all about.

It’s a little unfair to judge him without the weeks worth of reps though.
I don't see what the problem was. Lay did not seem to have a bad game. Go back and watch our offense. He is a big kid. Seemed to play better than you'd expect.
I just don't see Cooper coming back this week or even in a few weeks at Temple. He just collapsed on a few plays, and he is normally driving his blocks into the dirt.

I thought he played relatively well.

My only issue was the lack of consistent snaps. Besides messing up the actual play- it keeps our QBs and other players from developing because it turns into a busted play.

Any word on how long he will be out? Surely, the walk-on will be fine for the Citadel.

To be fair, the kid was ATL the first game but wasn't listed as ATL for the USF game. Just goes to show that you better be ready to play at any time you're dressed out because you never know what's going to happen.

Shouldn't there be at least two players ATL at each position?

I thought I remember hearing after the game that the would be back-up center was already hurt going into the game. Possibly one of the guys you mention?

I inferred from something said that Minihan would have been the backup center but don’t know for sure.

Don't we dress more at home than we do on the road? Just curious if he was not ATL, would he have even been there if this was a road game?

Not sure how many we take on the road or how strict the ATL is but could have been interesting if only the ATL travels.
Or maybe that is why he was ATL for the first game.

You have to think our depleted interior line should play better, with a week of practice, and then a bye week.
