2020 Recruiting

Morton will probably wait. Couple of other targets that are wait and see.

Before any of you stress, and a lot of you will stress if a leaf blows on your shoe, remember that maneuvering by a handful of kids is a natural and normal part of big boy recruiting. We will win some, and we will lose some, and some kids will just rain out by not being feasible college entrees.

Remember that Collins is well-versed and at home swimming those waters. He came into town and cold-recruited starting about a year and a week ago. He signed the class's highest-ranked recruit (Griffin) in the Feb period, along with some good young prospects including Lockhart. He got in with Ahmarean Brown and Yondjouen in time for the early signing period. And in his spare time he hired a staff and recruited some 4 and 5 star transfers. (And he did all that without poaching his Temple class, which he could have, and I for one think that is to our long term advantage even though I know some of you are blind to that brand of ethics.)

So don't stress about no transfers yet. Don't stress about wavering kids. Don't stress about offensive or defensive linemen. We could stop now and have a great class, or we could keep going and have a better class.

I think CGC thinks we will have a full house with the exception of 1 or 2 taking their time, and he is making hay with the 2021 class right now. He's really good at commitment maintenance and it is all... falling... into... place.

He wasn't interested under the old staff that his family had a relationship with, and it wasn't likely that Parker was going to sell him on Tech since he was on his way out. Don't even really see any evidence we pursued him much.

Looks like the youngest Braun ain't headed to Athens after all.
He's pulled out and is committing to Florida.

probably decommitted because the uga OL coach left
Probably because he is from Florida and got his Gator offer.

Go Gator, go Gator, go Gator.
1......2......3,4,5 them Florida Gator don't take no jive.

I thought we talked about this last week sometime already when it happened? Regardless, it's good for business. He left like a day after they named who Pittman's replacement was. He was reportedly a Florida lean to start with but wanted to play for Pittman so he chose UGAg. Pittman gone, no brainer to go back to the home school. But to hear the mutts tell it, he was dropped for a 3* OL... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

as long as uga doesn't turn around and offer one of our guys.
Dammit...they are in Atlanta now so we can't even market the fact that Athens is a ööööhole against them.

I bet the guy who surveyed Athens into Atlanta is the great great grandson of the UGAg surveyor who surveyed the Georgia/Tennessee border and lost us water rights to the Tennessee river

If a woman has made it to 34 and is still a major MILF then she has staying power. May want to consider that she can keep it together deep into life. A difficult choice...not the best analogy.

I'd have to see what the Milf's 53 yr old mom still looks like before making a decision. If the milf mom/daughter resemblance is sister like, then definitely go the Milf route. Just trying to break it down.

I agree with all this, except I think Lee will be a DT unless we get two strong commits already at 290 lbs+ to close the class.

You were right about Lee at DT, from coach's interview w/ KQ:

"...and Jahaziel Lee back. And I think Jahaziel will finally get an entire year playing the position that he's going to play at the next level defensive tackle. And he's going to be really good defensive tackle.

I've coached a lot of great ones. We've had seven and The last three years from the previous place. He is an NFL defensive tackle. And now that we get that he had to play OL for us last year out of necessity and did a good job for us, but the depth that we've built along the offensive line and then recruiting is going to fill that void as well so we can make the move. And I'm sure like we did the last place. He'll have some short-yardage goal-line flexibility. But he's going to be an NFL defensive tackle."

I think it's reasonable to believe that every single position group on the team will be improved. Not sure about TE. In some cases we will improve simply by development, but in other cases we will have new or returning faces that will be real improvements over some of the young men who were fighting hard at the end of the season.

Coach also implied in that interview that they are holding open three slots for the transfer portal or grad transfers. I don't know where he will find those slots, but I'm glad that is the plan.
