2020 Recruiting

Wilder still in play? I saw where he picked up a Miami offer, but also saw where he has visits set into 2020. Despite not having a ranking, he is embarrassing the parents of smaller guys on hudl.

Yeah I think he will sign in February. He is blowing up very late, so he is one of the few guys that is probably the right move for.

Awesome news to get a graduate transfer, let alone on the OL from a P5 school, let alone one recognized for his academics. Trust the process, we're seeing it work.

From the bios/stats, he played a lot of different positions and a bunch at center. Always good to have guys that can make the snap.

There will surely be comparisons to Southers (who largely did ok for us, anyway), but Johnson has played in every game for the Vols with the exception of his redshirt year. And he started every game as a RS sophomore.

Here he is after the Georgia game next year...

This young man is smart. He LOVES UT and has no real reason to leave, but he can see the value of a Tech degree and the connections it will bring. That's how you set yourself up for success. He will benefit, and GT football will benefit. This is the best possible use of the grad transfer portal. Rating=100

I think (memory from when I first heard about this) is that Tenn doesn't have a grad program in what he is interesting in. He is actually a "true" reason for grad transfer rules. Even Tenn fans are wishing him well. I bet he greatly helped the team GPA. ;-)
