It can't get any worse than CGC, right? :dunno:

Stop threatening us with a blessing and actually leave.
Not sure why you can't handle someone with a different opinion. You would say I am a glass half empty person, I would say you are wearing gold tinted glasses. Time will tell. If I do not renew my tickets next year, does that disqualify me from posting?

Can someone tell me honestly how this guy is wrong? What is fun about watching this team?
It’s not that watching Tech lose is really fun - it’s that OP is ignoring how miserable CPJ’s last years became.

2015 was a disaster just as bad as Collins’s teams. 2016 was fun. 2017-2018 was 3 hours of QB keepers and bad defense.

Whether it was blocking rules changes or coaching burnout or poor recruiting really doesn’t matter. The program was dieing and Collins is doing something radical to fix it. He deserves more than 1.5 seasons in the middle of a pandemic before we give up.

It happened because CPJ started losing too much. I don't know if that was the scheme's fault, him getting old, him not keeping a good group of assistants, or what.

Until CGC came along and proved that it was possible to get top talent interested in GT, we all thought the primary problem was CPJ's inability to hire the right DC.
We knew for years we were pathetically falling beyond recruiting budget, support staff, bells and whistles, etc.

Bobinski murdered GT sports. öööö that dude.

When you get the corn cob out of your ass. I am certain you would have picked a top tier coach who would have immediately gotten us to that level. Sadly, it will take 3 to 5 years. In the meantime, try really hard not to kill yourself because that would be a shame.
Truth is, we'll never recruit like Clemson. Mostly what we are getting are still 3 star players with a few exceptions but have you noticed most of those we get from the portal are making little to no meaningful contribution? Four and five star recruits make little difference when you have a
1 Star head coach.

We are lucky to have football at all this year and that Louisville game was fun as heck. When the young guys make a play, it's fun. I mean, there is stuff to like there if you come into it with a realistic perspective and realize it is a rebuild.

Nope. I hope you don't renew your tickets for next season.

This is the first time in any season that Tech was heading into an off week and I didn't care. Watching this is not fun. It's sad, pitiful, hopeless and embarrassing. Of course, I'm 70. I don't have ten years for Collins to learn how to coach. I've been through this before. Curry was exasperating, but he was a Tech man, and he did seem more like a football coach than Collins. Bill Lewis was bad, but he was gone pretty quick. Ross's first two years were winless in the ACC, but his teams were always well coached. There was no question about whether he knew what he was doing. But Collins has not given me any reason to have any confidence. I can't wait for the off season. I think young fans should stick with this. Maybe Tech will be good again one day. I hope so. I thought the Notre Dame game was pretty good compared to others. But, when you lose 31-13 at home to a team that had the ball on your one yard line when the game ended, it's hard to get very enthusiastic. Nobody respects Tech football right now. It is very sad to me. Our coach and our AD seem totally clueless. I'm past worrying about it. I hope I live to see Tech be good again. But, I'll be surprised if I do. If you had been alive and seen Bobby Dodd coach, you would be very sad, too.
As great as Coach Dodd was, many of our problems over the past fifty years are due to his failure as an AD.

I think a lot of it had to do with the transition to Bobinski, and I don't think Bobinski gets near enought credit for what happened to our roster. I also don't think CGC would have come here if he thought he was going to get the type of support CPJ got from Bobinski.

Bullshit. You are likely one of those idiot GT fans who like to believe that GT is so academically rigorous that we could not possibly recruit top athletes. That is a lame excuse and is crap. GT has grown tremendously over the past decade. It is a world class school in one of the most vibrant cities in the United States. We don't necessarily have to put in a wiffle ball field for players not to use to try to draw players to GT. We are already in Atlanta.
If you want to continue with your "woe is us" 1970's and 1980's GT bullshit, fine. We are every bit as capable of recruiting against Clemson and UGAg.
Wouldn't mind weeding out a few of our lesser fans. Any way you can put yourself in the fan portal? Maybe Auburn or LSU will pick you up.

Was Bobinski selected by our worthless President Peterson?

Is it the rigorous academics or the lack of majors, this week?

Also, I thought I would never read "dip out" on a GT message board in 2020, but I have just read it twice in one thread. Wow.

Yeah I'm sure the last couple of years were really fun before we finally changed coaches. I've never read anything so pathetic. So when things are bad you quit, got it. It's suppose to be "when the going gets tough, the tough get going." I can appreciate watching this year, despite the record or how bad it's looked at times, because I believe that we are seeing the very infancy of something special. If you can't get a smidgen of excitement for watching a player like Gibbs than I guess it is time to walk away. For whatever reason, there's a vocal minority with our fans that just flat out hate CGC and I don't really think it's all based on the performance of the field. If you're so bothered by the so called shenanigans just remember it's not directed to you. CGC is trying to create a fun atmosphere for the kids and attract some great young men to turn Tech into a place to be. Despite whatever you've be told how many times about why Tech can't do certain things, CGC is changing that and a bunch of our ööööty fans mock him for it. But if you do walk away, remember when the times become "fun" again that you're now just a band wagon jumper and not a true fan.
They're so cute when they're young.

Let me see. I've been thru the transition to Carson, to Fulcher, to Pepper, to Curry, to Ross, to Lewis, to O'Leary, to Gailey, to Johnson, and now to Collins. Look at it this way. This is my 10th GT football marriage. Some of my previous wives left me, some I divorced. But having been thru 10, I know something about what the honeymoon (they get shorter), and the move in looks like. I can remember some good times early in many of the previous marriages. So far I'm not impressed with this wife, and the good times aren't happening. All she does is complain about the last wife and how much redecorating and cleaning she is having to do. She claims to be good at it and says in a few years I won't recognize the place. I know this is only her second marriage so I'm not sure. I had some good memories of the last wife before she left me. I'm wondering why we have to get rid of everything and start over from scratch. So far, all she's done is bring in a bunch of new furniture and the place is a mess.

But whose wife will she be after the resurrection?

We'll see if GC can prove me wrong and recruit with Clemson. So far, he hasn't been close.

So far, he's had one year and got 4* Sims and 4* Gibbs.

Not a clue. Dabo? Saban? Satan?
Coach Pirate Leach after getting shutout against Bama Saturday night. Thought his comment about culture might sound familiar.

Cut the new wifey some slack. Your ex had some outstanding qualities, but she didn't exactly leave a very attractive home or full cupboard. You may not understand your new wife's methods, but she is restocking at a high level and competing for your affections with extreme exaggerated passion, in the midst of a global pandemic, no less.
