This is not accurate. Everyone knows Jared is fast and strong.

What he needed to do is show well in position drills, show he is healthy, and light up the 3-cone and short shuttle.
Disagree. Everybody knows Jalen is a unit and can bully DBs. Not everybody knows he can run. I sure as hell wasn’t expecting a sub 4.5 40.

Other drills can add/subtract to his day, but if NFL teams trust that 40 time it’ll get him drafted along with his absurd bench numbers.

It’s at the very least special teams specialist worthy.

I can't help if some people have not done their homework, but I quote from the Feldman's Freak List:

He wears No. 1, which might give you an idea of his body fat percentage. The 6-3, 223-pound Camp, a former two-star recruit, is one jacked wideout. He bench pressed 225 for 30 reps and has maxed out at 405. He has 20-inch biceps, but also has a lot of speed too, having clocked a 4.4 40 and vertical jumped 37 inches. In 2019, Camp had seven catches for 134 yards and a TD in five games in a season shortened by injury.
He had health concerns. He has to show he has no long term effects. He has to show agility and not just straight line speed. He has to show he can play the position some and is not just a raw dude, exacerbated by his first few years here not developing him.

NFL uses 40 for receivers, but unless you clock 4.2 and threaten to outrun EVERYONE, they use the 40 to make sure you are fast enough for your playstyle and as a check on your film play speed. 3 cone is more important to a lot of teams for wr. Short shuttle, particularly for slot receivers.

What is Feldman’s 40 time based on? HS camp? Whatever it was, it’s not the same as a Combine setting with NFL reps present. Also don’t think anybody’s gonna be drafting him as a slot...

What you’re describing above appears to be a R1 WR - 6’3” 225, 4.4, record-breaking strength, and good agility.

He just needed to raise his stock enough to get drafted. His 40/Bench/Vertical are going to be attention grabbers for that purpose. If I have more time I’ll pull all the WRs 225+ to run sub 4.45 at the combine. It’s gonna be a short list. He’s gonna get Claypool comps with those numbers.

He's not Metcalf and he's not what Rower is flailing about.

He's a guy who has had trouble staying on the field, which teams hate, and needs to prove he can play the position. He was hurt by the old offense, but hurt more by injury history.

Teams do not know what they have with him, and are afraid he will never be healthy. They are also afraid he might be Stephen Hill, who was big and fast and happened to play for GT. Hill killed the analytics, except for the short shuttle, which was a red flag the Jets ignored. He also had other issues, but we are not talking about Hill. Teams are naturally suspicious of players who are that freaky but never put up numbers. They are also afraid he was not healthy enough to get the practice reps to know the position as he should with his age level.

So the 40 is affirming, but not the major factor. Everyone who is a pro at scouting knows he would time fast. The freak bench press is not a big deal to scouts but will cause them to review film to make sure he played with strength, and that will boost him some, since he did.

Don't get me wrong. I love the guy and I know enough about him to draft him, but I am thinking like a scout and not a fan when I type the above. I hope he catches fire because scouts chatter like women, but if he goes late or not at all he will not be the first amazingly gifted athlete to have it happen to him, and the above would be why.

Yes, but Camp can catch and Hill couldn't.

Rounds 1,2, 3. I'll eat a ghost pepper if I'm wrong.
