5 feels like nice progress. 6 would be great given the tough schedule. 7 we’d be way ahead of plan, especially given the talent we have in younger classes and inbound for the future. 8 might be too many, stingtalk would self destruct. 4 would be disappointing. 3 hire a new coach.

We should win KSU and NIU. No need to really talk about ND, Clemson, or UGa.

So the question is how do we do against a mediocre Coastal and generally poor BC. We have 4 home games of those 7. We have Duke on the road.

UNC and Miami have been better than us at the recruiting model. But both coaches have shown very little ability to maximize on the talent they get.

I would love to say we win 3 of 4 at home and beat Duke. But we would need a kicker for that. I think we get 1 at home (BC or Pitt) and Duke.

Without seeing a single play by either our opponents or our own players, this is where I land right now. I really just want to see progress. The number of wins doesn't really matter to me.

upsets over Miami/NC are longshots but not impossible.
7 of these seems highly winnable but that's a lot of relatively mistake free football for a young team.
I'm on the bandwagon for 6.

I think we got the leg via transfer this offseason, just need to block for him.

Forgot about that one. I will now expect 5 or 6 wins.

NIU, KSU, Duke (3 wins)
BC, Pitt, UVa, Miami (2 or 3 wins)

We have been a bad matchup with VT under CGC.

Magic # is 4.

4 wins and stay within 4 TDs of Clemson and UGA are my break even points.

Let's go Jackets!

NIU and KSU aren't layups......NIU returns 20 of 22 staters off of a very young team last year and have a Michigan State transfer at QB. KSU could give us fits just because of the offense they run and they are a very good FCS team. I not convinced that we will be that much better in all areas and Collins remains a better recruiter than game day coach.

They aren’t layups, but they are must wins.

I think KSU is the worse matchup. Miss St ran Collins defense. Obviously, we ran it against the Citadel. Neither game was very good against zone blocking on the inside or against the midline. It is like it was an outside in defense against the option. That s the right plan against your typical RPO or a Myers style option, but it is a poor matchup against the flexbone. Hopefully our DL just out talents KSU. Or we switch to a more aggressive style like Miami used to run to put the option behind the chains.

NIU - .9
KSU - .98
Clemson - .1
UNC - .4
Pitt - .6
Duke - .5
UVA - .6
VPI - .5
UM - .6
BC - .6
ND - .2
U[sig]GA -.2

Expected value is 6 wins, so I'm going to say 12 wins.
