Georgia Tech Football has had six Head Coaches since 1987. Below is how they stack up against eacher other.

1990 - Bobby Ross - Natty, ACC Coach of the year (Bobby Dodd COY, Sporting News COY, Walter Camp COY, AFCA COY)
1992 - Bill Lewis - 4 wins in league play and beat two top 25 teams (Clemson and NC State)
1998 - Georgia O'leary - Gator Bowl win, ACC Coach of the year (Also won ACC Coach of the year in 2000)
2006 - Chan Gailey - Loss ACC Championship game
2009 & 2014 - Paul Johnson ACC Title (Later revoked) & Orange Bowl Win - ACC Coach of the year both years (also ACC COY in 2008)
2021- Geoff Collins - Ended his losing streak to FCS opponents when Georgia Tech defeated Kennesaw State. Collins has yet to extend his winning streak at Georgia Tech beyond one consecutive game.

Those stats are useless without a metric showing the tenure. A horrible coach could have the most wins in history if he was around 30 years
 
Ross clearly put the team on an upward trajectory. O’Leary benefits from the team left to him. Gailey maintained equilibrium. Johnson came out with his hair on fire, had some equilibrium years, then the best year since 1990, and then the wheels came off. There is a good argument that outside of Ross, Collins inherited the most difficult task. That doesn’t excuse the boneheaded crap we have endured however.

Agree. And Bonus points for Ross given he is the reason Oleary and Friedgen were at GT, which later resulted in the late 90s success and 3IAR.

That said, deduct points since he introduced oleary to GT and Oleary introduced Collins to GT. Thanks a lot Boss Ross

I'm glad you were able to add some context to the numbers. Our fans that basically solely blame Collins for the losses are truly pathetic simpletons.
 
If we lose, I can already hear CGC blaming it on the lightning delay.
 
O’Leary peaked in ‘98 at 10-2, he left us at 7-5, you know starting the whole Chan 7 win circle of suck streak. You could argue O’Leary had us on a downhill slide and ol’ Chan got us straight and level, producing remarkable consistency year over year.
