Threet transferring from Mich...

He does not have the disciplinary problems that forced what's his face to go to Jax St, so he could get into most any FCS school.

It looks like he was going to ride the bench after Rodriguez got his option quarterbacks in the latest class. Typically I would say somebody was weak for transferring around like this, but when you're staring at riding the pine for three years, sitting another year out or going FCS doesn't sound too bad.

I feel bad for this kid. He keeps ending up in systems that don't fit his style of play. Unfortunate for a player who showed a lot of promise coming out of HS.

He transferred from Tech before Gailey's last year. The reason he gave was that Nix "left," but in reality it looked like he really wanted to be at Michigan all along. I guess you can hold that against him, but I don't hold transferring out of an incompatible system against him.

I feel bad for him too. Everywhere he goes they transition into the option! Poor guy! I could see him being really good at USCe.

$5 says wherever he transfers to revamps into the option.

Hey, with Nesbitt, Shaw, Sims, Washington and Luallen, not to even throw in Booker's name, I will sleep at night without the kid. All the best to him and I hope he will find happiness somewhere. Also, GT has some playmakers...

Maybe he can go to Delaware, the QB pipeline to the NFL...

BuzzCzar quote "Maybe he can go to Delaware, the QB pipeline to the NFL..."

If he does he will have to beat out PAT DEVLIN, Penn States back up QB who transfered to Delaware in January.

"A native of Audubon, NJ Flacco becomes the highest NFL draft pick in Delaware history and the fourth quarterback selected. Quarterback Rich Gannon, who retired two years ago following a All-Pro career,...was the highest pick ever for the Blue Hens.

Other UD quarterbacks selected in the draft were Jeff Komlo by Detroit in 1979, Scott Brunner by the New York Giants in 1980, and Andy Hall by Philadelphia in 2006."

There is some possible irony here.

I think if Threet stayed at GT, there's at least some possibility he beats out Taylor Bennett. TB, as good as a kid as he is, struggled at in his year as a starter. If Threet did beat out Taylor Bennett, and GT won 1-2 more games that season, Gailey likely keeps his job.

Threet would then go on to star in a pro-style offense for which he's well suited.

Instead he bolts GT for Michigan and gets the shaft when Michigan goes to a run heavy offense. Meanwhile, GT, the school his presence MIGHT have kept in a pro-style offense, fires Gailey and becomes a run-based offense.

Funny how life works. He bolts the perfect offense for him by screwing GT, then himself gets "pay back" at Michigan. In the process, he loses 2 yrs of eligibility.

Well, best of luck to him, I hope he can succeed and make it to the NFL.

Why should any of us feel bad for Steve Threet? It only points up some of the follies of the recently completed recruiting season. This kid had multiple offers from big time programs. Whatever his selection process was it must have been terribly flawed, he quickly determined he had stepped in caca by going to Georgia Tech, and he bailed. No doubt he and his "advisors" were sold a bill of goods by the Maize and Blue, and regime-change did not exactly suit his style. Now he is on the move again--but isn't it clear he views college as a springboard into the NFL? To date he has failed to set the world on fire with his talent--but he hasn't paid a dime for school like the thousands of others at both Tech and Michigan that are working their asses off just trying to get an education. I feel no sorrow for this guy---he is just another Robert Marve as far as I'm concerned. Self-centered, spoiled, the absolute opposite of the kind of kid a coach would want in his program. Me, me, me.

Wasn't Andy Hall one of ours for a while?
