That's a great thing for him to do. No doubt it will have a big impact on him and his family.
On another matter as far as building a successful football program, I saw this a few minutes ago. It had info in regard to average NIL deals that apparently schools are offering over on the right side of this recruiting rankings. For the most part, there appears to be a pretty high correlation between NIL deals, recruiting rankings, and overall program success. How do we change the dynamics of what this listing implies?

A coworker at GTRI recently attended a workshop at the GTAA to brainstorm ways to leverage campus capabilities and research to benefit athletics. Apparently Batt, Key, and reps from other sports were there and participating and some interesting ideas were generated. It’s been a long-time hope of mine that we would find a way to put the brains on campus to good use, and this seems like a step in the right direction. I’m kind of excited by what I heard.

A season-ticket holding friend of mine here in Augusta has a 14 year old son who just spent 3 full weeks over Christmas and New Years in the hospital with pneumonia and, though home now, still faces the horrible possibility of having some (maybe all) fingers and toes amputated because of septic shock. I have met the kid several times, and he's a good kid and a big Tech fan. I doubt that Key will be visiting the Augusta area anytime soon, but I know that some kind of note to the kid would mean the world to him. Does anyone know how to get the word to someone at Tech who might be able to arrange that?

Yep, in days past you would call Teri Anton. Not sure how now. Still could probably call Teri Anton though.

Do you have a contact number? I guess I could contact my ticket rep, but he might not know anything about matters like this
No, not anymore, but you should be able to email her also. Chan had me contact her once about a question I had. Very helpful.

Can you say more about this? Leverage what capabilities specifically?

My wish generally is that we’d find a way to leverage anything from architecture and civil engineering to AI stuff - anything you could imagine those big GT brains contributing to athletics. One particular thing that was discussed was better ways to access and make sense of physio data.

I was happy when Collins was talking about using data to practice and train more effectively, but it seems like all we ever did was measure how fast our gunners ran past the punt receiver. I’m hoping they want to have a smarter go at that.
