Are the mods on the Insider's Board acknowledging this rumor? I am not the most informed Tech fan on the Internet, but I still have not heard a thing about this rumor and the above "Some guy on there I have never seen him post before" does not sound too credible.
 
I just looked at Luc's offers and boy do we have some competition with him. Does anyone know where we stand with him? Florida, USC, and Alabama to name a few of his offers.

Are we really in the running for him? I am just not really used to us being on a list of recruits like that.

gp1 has acknowledged it.... basically the guy says he ran into a person high in the program. They were talking recruiting and the guy says "all 9 committs are awesome kids" basically. The guy says "nine committs?" Other guy smiles and says its a "colorful committ"

The thread is three pages long and is specualtion over who it could be.

I've been trying to find where I saw it and not having much luck. I may have been incorrect and only saw this:

"Our top BB target is Charles Perkins of Centennial (coach is a huge Dawg...GT only offer thus far but that will change)...and AB target is Mack Brown (MLK...same school as Joel Kight...already has offers from Louisville, Oregon, Arkansas, Duke)."

I am a semi-idiot on figuring out how to link or quote other threads on this forum. But, that is from HiveredTech who I have found to be about the most reliable person on here. I may have just read it incorrectly, but for some reason I believe I read somewhere else that Perkins was the #1 RB on our list. That could also be b/c we were in more of a need for a BB than an AB. Or I could just be plain wrong.

Have you watched video from their junior year? Perkins looks much better to me than Brown. Perkins packs a punch and is super quick to and through the hole. Brown's top end speed is good but thats all I see in him. I think he would be a SE or WR all the way if he was 1-2" taller. I'd like to have both but I would much rather have Perkins over Brown. Guys like Dwyer/Allen/Perkins can play B back and A back but a guy like Brown wouldn't be worth a flip at B back.

Scott makes some very good points, especially in regards to Perkins' suitability for our offense - in that he doesn't have elite top-end speed, but he does have elite "burst," which is probably the most important thing for a B-Back in our offense. He has a lot of qualities that make him similar to Nesbitt, at least in the running capabilities.

I very much like the sound of that burst ability. Now is that burst kind of like a spurt or is it like Dwyer who gets a speed jump and stays there?

Also, made me think of how awesome it would be if we had Nesbitt at QB and a slightly heftier Nesbitt at B Back. :D

Dwyer is special guys...there may never be another Dwyer just as we learned there may never be another Joe Hamilton.

That being said...Perkins is a great RB.

If he's got the burst but is a little slow on the top end I can handle him occasionally being drug down from behind 30 yards downfield. We'll just take two plays to go 60 instead of one, eat some clock.

I'll describe it thusly: in a 40 yarder, he'd spend the first 10 accelerating to top speed and the next 30 at that top speed. Very fast acceleration, but he doesn't have that next gear like Dwyer does (to me, Dwyer accelerates to a speed, and then, a few yards down the field, accelerates again).

but WTF is a "non-commitable" offer? What is the difference between a verbal and written offer (besides the obvious)? It seems like we wouldn't offer someone if we weren't willing to honor it just as we ask kids who committ to stick with their word. Am I missing something here?
