A lot is being made of the uniform gold tweak. I think most of the Tech population is confused on what is "Old gold" vs "Vegas gold". Below is a picture which shows them side by side and a poll to figure out which people like more.

Old gold is the "mustard" one worn by Dwyer (on the right) and on the top of the color comparison.
Vegas gold is worn by Drummond (on the left) and is on the bottom of the color comparison.

Need an option for "they both look stupid on that uniform."

Also I'd like a "just wear the throwbacks" option.

the NEW color is "Old Gold". It's the color of the Ramblin' Wreck. That other mustard/baby poop green color is NOT old gold.
 
Sad that 50% (as of this post) care enough about a jersey color to vote for it over "who cares, let's just play football."

Wrong--the new color is closer to VEGAS gold and it is certainly lighter than the Ramblin' Wreck.
 
Need an option for - any color looks good as it's running by a UGA defender.

If this is the case, it saddens me that GT is wearing "Vegas gold" again this year because it looks more like beige than gold to me. The color of masking tape. I much prefer the Old Gold of last year, but only on the pants and jersey. I wasn't too keen on the helmet gold last year because it wasn't a metallic gold.

I think the more metallic gold helmets that Vandy wears would look sharp with the old gold unis we wore last year.
 
Best "gold" was on our pants in the mid 60's. Anyone got pics?
 
Buzzcar's color swatches are dead on - that is old gold, like the old gold letter jackets football team wore in sixties and seventies. The old gold in turbanicus gt's post is an old gold with too much mustard - that's what we used last year. I thought we got the gold shade right with the throwbacks a couple of years ago.

I don't see why they can't return to the darker metallic "old gold" from the 80s through the very early 90s (ie on national title uniforms) which was neither too light (a la "vegas gold") nor too mustardy. Certainly we could all embrace that shade.
 
The color difference between the two pictures may just be difference in white balance and saturation of the photos. Either way, until someone proves to me that the colors of the uniforms will help or hurt our player's performance on the field, I don't give a crap what kind of gold is in the uniforms.

Up with the White and Gold.
Down with the red and black.
 
Is there any other school that whines this much about the color of their uniforms?
