I wish we still had Tenuta

Perhaps CU has a good offense? They almost have SEC speed.

JT's defenses made flashy plays, they did not make game winning plays.

We are better off now.

Tenuta's defense would have been lit up tonight! Their offensive line was huge and I was pleasantly surprised we were able to get pressure at times.

Tenuta can blow me we would have got torched with him calling the D. I think we played well on defense considering how long they were on the field.

you are thinking like a simpleton if that is your defensive analysis tonight.

In the last 3 games (besides JSU) we have given up 35.7 PPG. Tell me that is good defense. Just because we made a defensive stand at the end doesn't make our defense good. You just want have comfort in the fact that your current DC is as good or better than your last when it really isn't true. I'd take Tenuta over Wommack any day.

We gave up points, sure, but the defense played very well. They played much more than the offense and were very tired by the end.

The whole point of a defense is TO NOT GIVE UP POINTS.

They played a lot because they allowed Clemson to drive up and down the field.

You realize Clemson didn't score a TD in Atlanta almost the entire tenure of Tenuta?

Our defense was decent tonight, they made the stops when it counts. Clemson made some great plays, they did what it takes and put the ball in the hands of their play makers. Our defense needs to play more aggressive. The defense played in a bend don't break mode most of the game, If the other team has a good QB (like Miami) he will pick us apart. We have to always send someone at the quarterback. not an all out blitz, but we have to keep that quarteback honest every play not sitting back in the pocket with all the time in the world. The plays where we were gashed the QB sat in the pocket for what seems like forever with no rush defense. We have to be more aggressive. When we have a rush on we held them.

You can add me to your "not fond" list.

Let me see:

1. CPJ's defenses will innately give up more points than Tenuta's. Chan played a ball-control game which rarely had big plays and usually took up a good bit of time. CPJ hits home runs much more often, increasing the number of drives (i.e. points) regardless of how good the defense is. The quick kick return touchdown made that worse tonight.

2. Seriously, you must not have seen the first half. We were, after all, up 24-0. Our defense made some incredible plays to keep that score 0 until...

3. We had seven straight drives ending with either a punt or an interception. 7 straight. Those drives TOP, by the way, kept the defense off for a very short time.

Seriously, I feel much better about the defense if anything after tonight. Until our depth caught up to us in the second half, the only scoring play they allowed was a long touchdown pass.

Don't want Tenuta back.

The blitz killed us several times tonight, and would have done so more with him.

I am one of Tenuta's biggest fans and would take him back in a heartbeat.

That said, if you think our defense was pathetic tonight, you are sorely misguided. Did they have a stellar game? No. Were they better than our offense and did they save our asses several times? You betcha.

There's plenty of things to criticize tonight, even some players on defense. But not the defense as a unit.

Kyle-you're an idiot. the D played their hearts out tonight, and I think really helped, if did not win the game for us! You have no clue dude.

BTW, go ahead and add me to your list for that one!

If you think defense was our problem tonight, then you're

I remember a couple of years ago (2006) watching Clemson destroy our defense in an embarassing nationally televised loss. Who was the defensive coordinator for that game?

Add me to the list Kyle. You've succeded with another one of your bait threads.
