LSU vs UNC in the Georgia Dome to start the 2010 season

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU and North Carolina will meet in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game to open the 2010 season.

The game will be played Sept. 4 in Atlanta's Georgia Dome and will be televised nationally on ESPN. It will be the first meeting between the schools since 1986, with LSU taking five of six in the series.

North Carolina was tentatively scheduled to open next season against William & Mary, but the school plans to move that game to Oct. 30. In addition, a September trip to South Carolina has been pushed back to open the 2013 season.

LSU also announced Wednesday it had added a home game against McNeese State on Oct. 16.

William & Mary says it is working to adjust its schedule for next season and accommodate the changes.

At this rate, they'll schedule us in 2059 which is about when I figure they'll run out of teams not named Georgia Tech to invite.
 
Wasn't this match-up already decided on for a later year? I know it's NC St/Tenn in 2011 and I think this game was originally going to be in 2012.
 
If UNC plays that game like they played against UConn on Saturday, they could be in for a long night in the national spotlight. And the ACC is going to take the beating.
 
Unless UNC sucks it up this year, at which point expectations would be lowered.
 
If we have a homegame that week, I hope we can make it a Thursday, because those Bama and Va Tech fans added fifteen minutes to my Varsity wait time this year.

Or I guess I could eat at Chick-Fil-A instead.

Oh wait, I forgot, I'd rather starve.

I'd rather have 7 home games if at all possible. I certainly don't want to be in the dome the first game if it means we would only have 5 home games.

chik-fil-a is fantastic too.

Varsity has the worst fast food in america. I'd rank it below krystal and sonic. Experience is nice but food is awful or atleast it was last week before the clemson game.
 
At least the UNC bandwagon will be derailed faster next year ... Hopefully a beatdown by LSU will kill any recruiting momentum that Butch Davis has.

Chik-fil-a is overrated, but Varsity gives a whole new meaning to the word. It's truly awful, I'll never understand the obsession people have with it. It reminds me of the putrid food they used to serve in the middle school cafeteria.
