On the concept of being positive

No, I was the guy that put forth the suggestion that Radakovich, having said he wanted a more marketable product, and said that he wanted to make a hire that energized the fan base, went in the exact opposite direction and hired Paul Johnson. My comment was along the lines of maybe the GTAA and the Administration was contemplating de-emphasizing football on a grand scale, because the hire made no sense when compared to the AD's and the search committee's stated goals---and still doesn't. I have since personally---perhaps foolishly--bought into Paul Johnson as head coach of my beloved Yellow Jacket team. My choices at the time of the hire are well documented, but let me reprise them for you: 1. Will Muschamp; 2. Rick Neuhisel; 3. Chris Hatcher; 4. Paul Johnson.
To restate the painfully obvious, tonight we are paying Paul Johnson about $1.8 million and Chan Gailey about $900k to have a team that played like Louisville, or Virginia, or Miss State, or Indiana. There are rumors that the locker room is split, that the offense does not believe in the coach's system, and that Jon Dwyer took a powder last night. There is trouble in paradise that only an exceptional coach can reverse.

Well just in case you were wondering, let me make it clear... you're a ****ing moron when it comes to football. The less you talk, the better off you'll be.

And I'm glad you are back on the negativity, because when you do that, we typically do much better. I wouldn;t trust your insider information for ****. I'm not much of an insider, but at least I know that that last paragraph is about as far from the ****ing truth as your previous predictions on our team.

Dude, you've officially left the reservation you fair weather F^&*!!!

The fanbase wasn't energized last year???? I'd beg to differ. I can't remember a time when we were less energized with the exception of Auburn twice.

The players were energized as well .... given the fact that they went on the road and beat their instate rival (A feat that hadn't happened in 7 yrs)

Do us all a favor and shut the **** up

Actually I think you're right. He was a big Gailey fan more than likely which should say a lot of that Football/GT Football knowledge of his

I was the biggest anti-Gailey fan you can imagine--I asked forebearance, because I have lived thru the firing of several coaches and the AA f'ed up each and every subsequent hire. Run your mouth all you want ---I know what I am talking about. You don't.

And another thing Yukon... guys like you are bad for the program. Seriously. You're a ****ing dumb twit and all you like to do is harp on negative **** and wish it to come true to prove your righteousness. You'd rather be right than have a successful program. The fact that you would turn on a coach so easily after one loss after in his first season he took a program and implemented a completely different offensive system (one by your own admission would be lucky to win 3 games) and beat some pretty big teams, and got us to our biggest bowlgame in years, shows that you are a fickle pussy sorry ****ing excuse for a fan.

Let me ask you a question? Are you one of those emo people who has a razor to your wrist at all times? Go ahead and cut it and save us the discoherent babble. Dumbass.

You don't know ****.... it's apparent you turd.

You've probably never put a helmet on (besides the soft one you wore to highschool) or played a down of football in your life.

Keep believing in the rumors....that shows your knowledge

Douchebag

Exactly....not to mention he won more games without his "sytem players" than all but one of Gailey's years.

Dude....he was probably a member of the "Flaggot Corp"

I'll have to defer to your superior knowledge. We'll talk again after the UNC game. The truth is you and I and BOR feel the same angst--just express it differently. You can proceed believing every thing is rosy. I see warts that I have seen with Carson, Rodgers, Curry, Lewis, and Chan. Pretend they don't exist, that's your perogative. I have already confessed that I was against the hire, but have grown to love Paul Johnson. But, believe me, I don't love the crap we trotted out on the field last night. Our team was ill prepared in every aspect of the game of football. We got shoved around, bullied, and embarrassed. I didn't play college football, so if you are implying that you did and that somehow makes your observations superior to mine, let's hear your take on things. Did you enjoy the game? I ain't shuttin' the **** up until things get fixed---which may be years. One famous GT athlete stated last night's game set the program back a year. I concur.

This is as much our problem as anything. I don't know which "famous" athlete you're talking about but he's as full of **** as you are. One game doesn't make or break a program and only a fan base as fragile as ours acts like that. Stop being such a pussy and either pull for the team of shut the hell up.

I can't believe that we're agreeing with one another but I like where your head is.

And apparently it's not up your ass like "NcJacket, GTKyle, etc"

Nice ncjacket. It gives me chills when you use profanity.

Since my birth in 1950, the year my father graduated from Georgia Tech, I have never NOT PULLED FOR THIS TEAM. So you STFU, take the rose colored Disney Jacket Fantasyland glasses off and recognize that this team has some serious defects. Too many defects relative to the talent we supposedly have to just wave your hand, mop your brow and say "wait til next week." I've read your posts, you're not a moron. You can't possibly be good with that game last night. If we had lost a close one, that's when you say "stuff happens".. Last night was an abomination for a team that so many were seeing as a top seven or eight ranked team.

Just where did you see that I was okay with the game last night? My point is that yes we sucked but the world didn't come to end and the season isn't over. and we damn sure didn't set the program back a year. We lost a game. We played like crap. It happens. Get mad but get over it.

Okay. the jock did post on this board last night that the game set us back a year. I'll find it , copy it and post it.

Alright Yukon, let me tone it back a notch. PJ inherited a **** team. PJ has a history and a serious track record with winning everywhere he's been. Christ the guy won at the Naval academy. How can you not think he's a great coach for GT? If you want to believe that Will Muschamp would have been better, great. Why isn't he coaching somewhere? Bottom line is he'd be way over his head and more than likely not given a fair chance because he's a dawg.

PJ on the other hand is a much better fit, like it or not. So quit with the doom and gloom posts and act like a serious GT fan, and support the coach. Christ, he hasn't done one damn thing to NOT warrant our complete support. Are we the type of program who should be winning 10,11, 12 games with our talent? I think a lot of us were drinking the koolaid believing the hype. But the bottom line is outside of 4 positions, we do not have talent across the board. Its going to take time. In the meantine, I'll take PJ's style of football all day long compared to the other choices for head coach.

What I don;t get is the guy comes in and beats UGA when they had two first rounders and a team that by all means should have demolished us, and you're sitting here being a baby because ****ing Muschamp is not your coach of choice.

You may be a GT fan, but you really don't know much about football. the fact that you would hypothesize so seriously that our administration is de-emphasizing football by hiring PJ and paying PJ more than Gailey is not one of the most ridiculous arguments I have ever seen on a message board, its THE MOST RIDICULOUS argument I've seen on a message board.

And speaking as a fellow GT grad who is much younger than you (1996 graduate) it is embarassing to me that a fellow graduate actually wrote and believes such total nonsense. No offense. You come across very very poorly and you continue to keep trying to drive your point home, like you have one. But what you have failed to recognize is that you have no credibilty because of your past posts, and on top of that you have done an absolute horrendous job trying to back up your argument with actual evidence. Hell I have problems with this team. I laid them out specifically. You talk in generalities, what ifs and rumors and try to pass it off as you know what the hell you are talking about.

Well clearly you don't.

I am sorry but whenever I hear the cliche "great fit for Georgia Tech" I translate : "like Gailey, Curry, Rodgers" because we as a fan base will look past 1-9-1 if the coach is a good fit. We will accept going to the Smurf Bowl if we just keep the bowl string alive; we will accept last night as a tough loss and move on if the coach is a good fit for Tech. I have, maybe not here, but elsewhere, acknowledged that, having seen CPJ in action, he is the better choice than Muschamp (or Neuhisel). But I also have said and still believe that the benchmark for our coach, good fit or not, is 10 wins in a season. Right now that is a pipe dream---for this year or next.
