Will we tear them down if we upset the #4 team in the country?

Yes. And it will be the first REAL rushing of the field in a while. The FSU one was a joke.

I agree. I will be on that field so fast it will blow your mind. Wes just may mistake me for the D-Train, well since I am white maybe Preston Lyons?

If we do, I'll be one of the first. I sit next to the Goldfellas.

you and me. We'll lead the south endzone and rush to the other side of the field. Those guys who form a ring around the base can kiss my ass. It's a GT tradition and we're doing it, whether the GTAA wants to fine us or not... and we're parading it down North, then Peachtree, then up 10th where a drunk frat guy with a blowtorch will break off pieces for everyone...

this is all assuming we win.

Security would not try to stop the fans from taking the post? I am seriously asking.

GTCU! I agree! Rush the damn field! Then take it to the streets! All the way to the F*#&#n Bar!

GO JACKETS! BEAT VT!

Yellow Fever,

20 security guards vs. 45,000 fans....hmmm.....I don't think they will break our will if we win this game.

Why would we rush the field? If you consider this a huge upset win for us that should not happen, then sure it's appropriate. If you think this is a game we should win, it's dumb.

I think if we want to be considered a top tier team these are the games we should win and we as fans should expect it.

they did at the FSU game. They formed 2 concentric circles around the base of the FG post and told everyone NO! and stayed there even after the students were on the field singing with the band. Apparently DRad doesn't want field-rushes because of the interaction ith the opposing team and doesn't want FG-tearing because the poles may hit people.

I say it's a risk everyone's willing to take. A win over both VT and UGA will result in field goals coming down, make no mistake.

What is there to consider about it? This would definitely be a huge upset win. How many people actually think this is a game we should win? We should get creamed. I hope we don't and think we can win, but to a neutral observer and most rational fans, us winning would be a big upset.

They would, and they'd arrest the first couple people who did it. Just don't be the first ones out.

Since its new administration in both the AA and the Hill, its probably a nono, but if theres critical mass it can happen, all just depends on how many students get the urge.

If you think this isn't a big win your nuts. This is the biggest game at BDS in at least 10 years. The number 4 team, be it VT or not, is in our house and we should get lose this game by all intents and purposes.

If we win, we are singing with the team.

or be the first one out and make the sacrifice so that others can have the great memory... I'm just thinking in a W.W.J.D. sense here

This **** is so ****ing annoying. Every time the idea of beating a highly-ranked team and rushing the field comes up, someone wants to pretend that we should be above that. Well we're not ranked in the top 5. We're 19th and trying to take a huge step for our program by beating the #4 team in the country. That's something worth celebrating.

Yetman.

ND was much bigger. You can't get bigger than ND except playing U[sic]GA to get into the national title game. That was the perfect storm of a summer's worth of hype, college gameday, the Notre Dame name, and the #2 ranking for Notre Dame. Not to mention us being unranked but knowing we had the talent to hang with them.

Hey **** you. You can celebrate all you want. I'll be there until the Horse.

I'm talking about ripping the goalposts down. I just don't think its appropriate to do after beating a division opponent who we have beaten in the last few years and is only ranked 15 spots ahead of us.

Also, I think there is a distinct difference between students running onto the field and carrying the goalposts out the stadium. Maybe that's just me.

The GTAA is worried about money to replace the goalposts and the safety of the players/coaches/staff on the field. Those goalposts aren't cheap to replace.

Regarding safety - Go look up what a UVA lineman did to one of our students who rushed the field after we beat the Cavs in 1998.
