FAN SUPPORT: What did Peek love most about playing for Alabama?
The school's fan support.
"We love them to death," Peek said. "They're fanatics and they're fanatical, and that's why I love them. I came from Georgia Tech, where - you know, no hating - but they had fair-weather fans. Unless they had a big game, they really didn't want to show up. ... That's why I love this place so much. It has so much heritage and tradition. They almost live and die with you every Saturday. And that's why you love them to death. At the end of the day, we almost want to win those games as much for them."

I guess I can't really say I disagree?:ugh:

I'm glad he's happy in Alabama. I'm glad he likes the Alabama fans.

I hope he never finds out what they can turn into when things aren't as good as they are now.

This is exactly what I said on TOS. Nobody has fairweather fans when you go 13-1 and 14-0. Alabama may just have the worst of them, however, in a 7-5 season.

The dumbass obviously has no idea what he's talking about. Georgia Tech is different, and he never comprehended that while he was here.

I hope they go winless next year so some Alabama dumbass will throw a brick through his dorm room.

From first-hand experience, Colin Peek is a total douche.

Hey guys, remember when we didn't sell out our homecoming game against the #5 team in the nation? Or the Thursday night game against Clemson? Did we sell out a single game besides the U[sic]GA game this season?

Some people say that our fans' attitudes after a loss or posts on a forum are bad for the team. Fan attendance is far more of a problem than that, and we suck at it. It really is a problem. Peek is just stating what we don't want to hear.

I do agree with you guys though that if they have a bad season, he'll find out a little something about fans who turn on you(different from fairweather fans) and he'll find that the GT ones are actually quite mild mannered.

You nullified your post with the last paragraph. Nobody is denying that we can have bad attendance - this thread is about Colin Peek acting like a giant twat.

He's bitter because when he came back to GT after last year none of his boys wanted to talk to him anymore.

That's not the point. It doesn't matter how correct or incorrect his statement was-- he bashed GT on his own accord, unsolicited. He's a douche.

Good job 'winning' a MNC, douche. I guess he'll always have something to look back on and brag about when he's working for some bama fan in the future.

you guys are bitter little pansies. he is right. GT games feel like a graveyard sometimes. people show up late and leave early. they dont make too much noise, cuz its hard to yell when you are checking your facebook page on your iPhone...

GT has some fantastic traditions and should go back to them, get rid of the crap bs music to "pschye" people up, and play football

our gameday experience, while sometimes good, is often so-so. AND I AM A DIE-HARD JACKETS FAN. i kept my season tickets when i lived in San Diego and made almost every game..

Tech fans are cosmopolitan and intelligent. that also means that they are opinionated and multi-faceted, they will never be as focused and rabid a fanbase as big state schools.

nothing you just said makes Colin Peek less of a douchebag.

Tech fans can say those things, because it's a Tech fan calling out fellow Tech fans. Outsiders don't get that privelege.

I'm not going to say we have the best fans in the world. But it is impossible to be a fair-weather Georgia Tech fan. We are the exception, not the rule.

Further truth. The amount of self-loathing in this fan base is pathetic.

See?
