Re: Official GT Under Investigation Thread

You're going to give StingTalk a reputation for having a bunch of threads that just have BS in them. When people find out that not all of our threads are bastions of golden information on our football program, they will be leaving for The Hive in droves.

:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:

I may have to sig that.

You really ought to chillax, strawberry brortcake. That's what these forums are for - discussion, speculation, suspected exploitation of minors, debate, etc.
You know what would make StingTalk explode? If the NCAA violations really were about Dede and the NCAA cites the oh **** thread as the initial source.

Re: Official GT Under Investigation Thread

:ohnoes: I've sullied the integrity of stingtalk
i think you were trying to preemptively stop 50 different threads about the same thing. but of course you failed in pleasing the lords of stingtalk because you forgot the fundamental rule

you can never please the lords of stingtalk

next time if you don't start one i'll complain about how you failed us by not starting an official thread

The NCAA will hold a teleconference at 3 p.m. today to discuss the NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions’ decision regarding Georgia Tech. There are far more questions than answers right now, so check back around 3 p.m. to find out what happened. Dennis Thomas, the commissioner of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and formerly director of athletics at Hampton University is the chair of the Committee on Infractions. He will be on the call. Stay tuned

Could this be an announcement that we are officially in the clear in regards to our last disciplinary action (wishing in one hand here)?

An anonymous source known only by the codename "Walrus" was instrumental to the case.

They are reporting the AJC story.
which has been updated...

AJC said:
The alleged violations occurred within the football program within the past several years. An NCAA spokesman declined to say whether the nature of the violations are serious or minor because the NCAA doesn’t comment until investigatory finds are released. A phone conference is scheduled with Dennis Thomas, the chair of the NCAA’s infractions committee, for 3 p.m.

Explode isn't the right word. Imagine every smallest portion of the matter that makes up every member, every server, every computer, every cable.. all collapsing together into a singularity before immediately erupting into an explosion that doesn't have the same mass as the original Big Bang but contains more than enough lulz to make up the difference. Every plane of existence, every dimension and all things that ever were, are and would be will instantly be devoured in a wicked nightmare of sounds and colors for which we have not yet begun to develop the mind capable of comprehending.

In short, the universe will go ham.

NCAA's investigating one of the games last year where some Tech players were doing homework during the game because their professor told them that he simply doesn't care.

1) Could be secondary violations, but if it is, I would've expected the GT press office to make sure that's clear from the get-go

2) If these are serious allegations (agents, etc), we're dead in the water. Because we would've heard about the investigation on one of the message boards if the compliance office and AA were doing their job. If we hear about problems and didn't even know they existed, we are screwed. Add that to the repeate offender for any violations prior to Nov. 2010, and we might as well hang up the cleats and take up soccer.

3) Best case it is follow-up to our academic issues.

4) Dede?

If it is agent stuff, I don't know how we survive this.
