Four Walk-ons Granted Schollys

How many of our 85 are walkons or special teams players?

I believe those 4 (Keith, Paige, Scully, and Carlson) plus Godhigh (AB), Poole (P), Morgan (LS) and Kidney (OL) are the 8 who were originally walk-ons, but are now on scholarship. I could have missed somebody though.

True. Thought we put like 5 on scholly last year too. Maybe Godhigh Poole and Kidney were in that group along with some random linebacker. Serpico maybe?

Do walk-on turn scholly players get theirs yanked if the need arises in the future, or do they follow the gentleman agreement* for kids coming out of high school that its theirs until their eligibility is up?

*For schools not in the SEC

From the article:

"This year, with 81 players on scholarship, he gave out four to walk-ons with the proviso that they’re not assured of retaining them past this academic year."

Which I assume means they have to earn it to keep it. I think at least of those four guys is a senior anyway.

Wonder if we will get a feature on Sportscenter like they did for the kid from Vandy :furious:

Yeah what was up with that? Are they doing a "Hard Knocks" series with Vandy on ESPN? There have been more stories/videos about Vandy football than in the last 100 years combined
