I think it comes down the the game against georgia. If we lose, Groh is likely gone, and I would guess PJ would get one more year at that point.
 
Yed it is...and he ought to be fired for this game alone...

He knew the defense was useless but we gave the ball back to them when we needed a half a yard to potentially ice the game? PJ is the one that got spoon fed a bowlful of dick........his own after he cut it off after calling on the punt team.
 
It'll be interesting to see how he reacts to fans going banannas on him. I doubt he's ever faced that in his coaching career.
 
We didn't get one inch in overtime, so there is guarantee we would have gotten one yard at the 50.
 
CPJ promised a productive offense and we got that. With few seniors on offense, it should just get better.

The maddening thing is defense and not getting them off the field. I could tell that Morris wasn't that good, but he had so little pressure and receivers usually had so much space that it didn't matter. At this point, I would be fine with CPJ making amends with Tenuta.

I don't either. But I don't think its a foregone conclusion anymore that he'll survive past 2014.

The bottomline is, either Tech must losen academic standards, or not expect to win big with this coach.

I prefer Division III.
 
Unfortunately we are stuck with him He has recuited so poorly 10-12 in the ACC. He has recuited players that fit his offense. Love Zach Laskey, but he is Naval Academy running back. A new coach would need 5 years to get players to go back to a traditional offense
 
The thing is, if we fire PJ, we're probably looking at a couple losing seasons right out of the gate. We'll still have an undersized line that isn't very good, mediocre backs, and a terrible D.
 
What makes people think Tech will become some kind of powerhouse once CPJ is fired and some no name retread or assistant coach looking for greener pastures is hired?

I think Tech has more of a chance of turning into Maryland than Virginia Tech if CPJ is fired and some other coach is brought in.

Firing Ralph Friedgen has worked wonders for Maryland hasn't it?

I don't think we will be a powerhouse.

I think we'll either realize we have to lower academic standards or think about deemphasizing football. I prefer one, but I'll accept either.

If this is true, the offensive linemen to his right didn't hear him cause he was going out there like the play was a toss to the farside.
 
That's kidney the tackle that missed the block. Will Jackson should be in the game but he's hurt.
 
No. He will never be on the hot seat. We will always be on the verge of breaking out the next year. It will be 2020 and Tech will still be an 8-4/9-3 team. And we cannot fire him because no other coach could do better (as we have found out over two decades).

IF this is true, the Vad era needs to start next week since our season is toast. I don't blame TW, this is all on PJ and that GOD AWFUL TED ROOF LIKE DEFENSE. I swear to god I felt like Woody Danzler was play for Miami.
 
Johnson is not recruiting Div I athletes. We look like an above average Div II team. Everyone said....oh oh wait til he gets his recruits in his system. Yeah Div II athletes. No great high school prospects want to come play in this pre World War II offense....Would You?

Just as I suspected, his best teams were with Chan's recruits. I have wanted Johnson gone for three years. More than sick of it.
