Funny cause I was sitting here thinkin, either VT is gonna fumble, or throw and interception, man was I right lol. I truly hope Florida takes down florida state.
 
Did anybody notice FSU had to defend VT on the road after scoring a go ahead td with exactly 40 seconds on the clock? Sound familiar?

Why couldn't he throw a crappy pass like that against us?

I guess he over-adjusted to avoid the LB and ended up throwing it behind the receiver.

yeah, I know. And bama needed a field goal and got a td at LSU.

Here's a similarity: VT needed one defensive play to win and they almost had it. They had Wilder stopped behind the LOS on 4th down, but could get him on the ground. Second effort got the first down. Then they go on to score the go ahead td. Irony?
 
Just got back from the game (I'm in Greensboro on business, my coworker is a huge FSU fan so we made the drive). It was actually a pretty exciting environment, even though most of the Hokie fans I spoke to sorta feel like we do this year.

They did a good job staying in it, but as soon as FSU scored the go-ahead TD the place got quiet and emptied out in a heartbeat. I was actually amazed since they were within a score, but I guess everyone had seen enough.
 
This game clearly shows why Beamer should be fired and Logan Thomas should be benched to give that other guy some playing time. Obviously not enough vocal leadership on the field.

Beamer is a terrible recruiter. He has to put a linebacker at QB. EJ Manuel is from Virginia and Bruce Smith is his godfather. How could Beamer not close the deal on someone like that? I don't want to hear any excuses about academics, either.
 
Wow, Jimbo Fisher is terrible. All he had to do last night was throw crossing routes and he could have scored on every possession. Yet he insist on calling those east west running plays that gained zero yards and almost cost him the game. FSU does not look like a top 10 football team. Maybe top 25 but not top 10. Virginia Tech is about on our level. This game was just more verification that ACC football is not very good. The good news for Georgia Tech is that with just a bit more fire in the belly and another player or two, we could own this conference. We really are not that far away from achieving at least that goal.

Exactly. That would piss me off big time if I was a vt fan. Should have been the easiest of deals to close.

This raises an issue that I've never really seen discussed. Everybody (should) knows that Jimbo was the de facto coach during the last years of Bobby's tenure. Why did they expect different results when Bobby's face wasn't on the sideline?

I believe it was because Tyrod was tearing it up at VT and EJ thought he'd have a faster path to a starting gig at Florida State (and likely with a better team).

And I'm happy FSU won that game (and stole EJ away). Virginia Tech can suck it.
