Al Groh

To me what this means is he had philospohies and beliefs in his system that were constantly being questioned by those around him. Which given the hesitation our defense plays with doesn't surprise me. In fact I think it lends more credence to the theory that the assistants undermined his tenure.

A Catholic in a baptist church is not simply someone who's not in the right fit. It's someone who's not in the right fit and is having their own convictions questioned.

Speaking as a Catholic who's hung out with a bunch of baptists at religious events...

Do you know why Baptist don't have sex while standing? People might think they're dancing!

I don't think that's what he meant. I think this comment is another version of his "I'm playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers" comment.

He's arrogant and is blaming our defensive failure on the players and defensive staff who he considers to dumb to understand, implement and deploy his brilliant defensive scheme.

No, Al. Your scheme sucked. You suck. Now Get tFO and Stay tFO.

Please explain. You always drop in with great one liners, would love to hear more specifics about the above in regards to Al's quote.

He's hired two DC's and hasn't been able to work with either one of them. The first to the point he scraps his system mid season and the second to the point there was enough friction within the coaching staff itself and he fires the guy mid season.

If our coaches can't work together well we have big problems and those problems are reflected back to the head guy.

Biggest difference between Baptists and Catholics is that Catholics speak to each in the likker store.

I think what he meant was that he felt like everyone got mad at him for drinking from the cummunion cup....everyone was like, "you son of a bitch Al!!, dip the body of christ in the cup man!!"

I would really like CPJ to be open to letting the next DC have some say in bringing in different defensive assistants.....

He meant that he felt out of place. That is all. Move along.
This, people. It's this.

He's not dropping some complicated, convoluted, cryptic message here. Quit Georgia Tech'ing this.

I guess he stopped looking at the man in the mirror. ... wahoo

I would really like CPJ to be open to letting the next DC have some say in bringing in different defensive assistants.....

To say the least.

You can't continue to blame poor defensive performance on the DC if the DC is not given freedom to build his own team.

Groh may have had a valid gripe in that sense.

No, it's definitely a Tech thing that extends to ST. I can't count the number of time I've listened to the campus neckbeards argue about semantics of stupid, petty things

I think what he meant to say was he felt like there weren't enough trees on campus.
