Official 2013 Recruiting Thread.

it has nothing to do with intellectual superiority. it has to do with the statement above

"it just doesnt matter" has become the phrase of our society and it is sad, imo. it DOES matter when you do things right versus not doing them right

i guess that is just an outdated concept

carry on

I don't recall saying anything about intellectual superiority.
But I will tell you that in my day to day life at work and home, IT does not matter to me. What does matter to me is that my young children do learn proper grammar and punctuation, as well as respect, which they seem to be doing just fine at. What also matters to me is that my family is healthy and provided for, which they are. Me and my wife support and take care of our family without any complications nor problems (knock on wood). Those are the only things that matter to me.
So, now ask me if grammar and punctuation on a football blog site matter... Not no, but HELL NO

I believe there is a subset of the population that is incapable of proper writing/grammar, so it is cruel to criticize them. It's like yelling at a child who does poorly at a sport. So I try to be selective about whose grammar I correct on here. The person could be one of our veteran Tech fans who is struggling just to use the computer. Most people out there, though, would be well served to lose their purposefully ignorant attitudes toward proper writing and spelling. But maybe I'm just a pedantic prick.

Should be "My wife and I". Would you say "Me support"?

you apparently dont even know what grammar is, which is limited to how sentences and phrases are constructed using punctuation and syntax. i just dont understand the overall level of dumb on a Tech board

Coming from the guy that doesn't capitalize any letters at the start of his sentences? I don't have a dog in this fight, but does it really bother you to the point that you have to "correct" posts multiple times in one day?

I wasn't gonna mention it. He doesn't use apostrophes neither.

come on people, it's the freaking recruiting thread, don't douche it up with these posts

ignore each other

We're trying to teach the new recruits the proper spelling and grammar etiquette and how it fits in today's society.

Any info on if we get any more commits before NSD? Johnson was very specific in what were looking for in this article  http://blogs.ajc.com/recruiting/201...-two-for-2013-class/?cxntfid=blogs_recruiting Basically anyone that's good. In a quick search we have interest in/from the following:

Trey Johnson, ILB: Tweet from Carvell stated we visited him recently. Has visits set up with OSU, UF, USC so I'm guessing unless we destroy USC in the sun bowl, this guy doesn't even know we exist

Stacy Thomas, DE: Apparently measured smaller than the services have him at. Think I read on here that while he has interest from a lot of big schools, no real actionable offers.

Corn Elder, RB: Great RB, wants to play Basketball too. Now listed as "Low" interest with him.

Looks like Crooks committed to Vandy. We also have interest from a lot of the typical low 3 to high 2 star guys. Anyone I'm missing? Any updates?

While Damon Mitchell has long been committed to Georgia Tech, rumors have long been swirling regarding a potential flip to either Wisconsin or Rutgers. Now it seems as though he will likely take an official visit on Jan. 25 to Rutgers, which can't make the Georgia Tech coaching staff feel very secure that close to National Signing Day.

An athletic dual-threat quarterback would obviously fit very well in Georgia Tech's offense, but supposedly the Rutgers coaching staff has also told him that he would at least get a shot at quarterback there.

I gotta be honest, as maligned as CPJ is for the scholarship-pulling practice, it would be appropriate in this case.

...rumors swirling...

Not sure I'd pull an offer over a statement that has more back doors than front doors.

I think this post works better as a haiku

Rumors are swirling
Flip is almost guaranteed
C P J epic fail

No matter if we pull the scholarship or not, we need to be actively recruiting a back-up plan at Qb. It also needs to be well known that we are talking to another Qb prospect. I say we give this guy a call...Asianti Woulard, #4 Dual-Threat Qb on Rivals and 4 star on both sites. Was a USF commit until the coaching change.
