We've got a bunch of our verbal commits on campus for official visits this weekend. Does it not being official yet (background check) mean that Roof can't be there?

Yes. Ted will be on campus this weekend.
 
Yes. That's why we got it done today. There was definitely some pressure to get the DC before this weekend because many of our big D recruits will be on campus on OV's.
 
Roof spends 5 minutes with those guys and they will be ready to run through a brick wall for him.
 
He needs to sign Jaylen Miller. If his style of 4-3 is the same as 12 years ago, he needs pass rush specialists at DE. Greg Gathers type.
 
He might could change a guy like Lawson or Mustafaa's mind who see themselves more as 4-3 DE's than 3-4 OLB's. (I think I remember reading that Mustafaa has academic issues for us though)

Rumor I've read is he had a class that UGA couldn't accept (:turbonoes:) but OKSt could, thus he's a Cowboy now.

Good timing on the hire with the big recruiting weekend coming up. If Roof is as personable as y'all say he is then it should be a good weekend for GT.

I am still pissed we have a 5* DE legacy (Lawson) come up this class and can't even get an OV from him. I can understand Mustafaa having grade issues. But god öööö we've have close ties to so many monster DL recruits and whiffed on all of them.
 
Yeah, I wonder what the story on Lawson is. Did Tech not have interest in him? Did he just not have interest in Tech? Was he getting bad info from somewhere?

I think the "legacy" card is way overblown. Kids these days make major decisions for superficial reasons. Who cares where pops played?

Pops probably told him stay away from GT if you don't wan't to hit the books.
 
There are quite a few good defensive players that were still considering Penn State before Roof left. I wonder if he can convince any of them to come to GT. Shame Penn State doesn't really have any good defensive commits to poach...

Lawson is a thug. He's also questionable in the classroom at best. (I would love to have him on the football field, but might be a virus in lockerroom)

Mustafaa couldnt even get into UGA. Moving along here..

Lawson isn't a thug. More of a headcase, anyone that has met him will tell you he is one strange kid. whereever he goes he'll be a beast and a big headache. A headache worth having though. He'll be a better college player than nkemdiche
 
If Mustafaa can't get into Georgie, but can into Okie State, what does that say about their admission standards? They don't hand out diplomas. They hand out post-it notes with "thanks for coming."

I wouldn't be surprised if UGA just told him that to move him along. They recently got some interest from other guys higher on their board than Naim and they might have just used that as a crutch to make it seem like they weren't revoking his scholly.

Notice, they got a "grade corrected" for Atkins to get in there because is needed big time with so many players gone from their DLine. They can make things happen if they want a player bad enough.

We have Russell. And our coach isn't "A MAN!" who may or may not have been forty at some point in his life.
