Jeremi Hall Visiting USF

Most likely just got his SAT scores back. Not hard to make good grades at a Tri-Cities without learning anything. No way any coaching staff can predict an SAT score.

As a high school teacher and coach, yes, this is exactly what can happen. Grades aren't an indicator of what a student can do. Been at 3 schools and athletes get better grades than they earn. It's the nature of the beast. Especially if the kid is a good kid and you want to see him make something of himself.

oh no i hate the hill gosh they're such nerds why can't paul johnson fire them

And, of course, the lil Hillshitnerds could not have possibly done this until just a few weeks before signing day.

They have to show their power by ööööingaround with young peoples' lives, as well as the GTAA. Gotta show how powerful they are.

How stupid are our coaches to have been recruiting him this long knowing the Hillööös would do this?

Well, at least, this will prevent so many of you losing your jobs come Monday by us not giving the youngster a chance.

We get kids from a neighboring county transfer in all the time with 95 averages, and make 30's and 40's at our school. When you ask them, they will tell you that their teachers would tell them that if they stay in their desk and don't cause any trouble that they will get a 100 for the day. Let me stress that this is not commonplace in this state but just at certain schools in that county. Makes you sick.

You do realize the guy might not qualify academically for any school, right? And that the Hill can't control when he receives test scores?

Then STFU and cheer for someone else. This kid isn't going to qualify at USF either... let that sink in for a minute before you go slit your wrists.

LOL...I love how you have already written this kid off when his ability to qualify still hasn't been decided...yet YOU think you're taking the high road as a true GT fan.
:rotfl:

Some of the delusions on here about the Hill's mythical power and influence make you sound like conspiracy theorist nutjobs.

Why did we let him take the test? Surely we can afford to send an AA tutor down there to take it for him.

are you guys blind? cant you see what is happening? right in front OF YOUR EYES!!!!

the Hillnerds have teamed up with the Professor Asshats and the Research Dorks to try to kill Tech football now that they got the Basketball AD in. We need to act before it is too late and before the deny more of our recruits!

we should probably arm ourselves with pitch-forks and torches and take to the streets directly to President Peterson's Palace!!!! OR THE END IS NIGH...

This is at the heart of the problem for GT recruiting. I saw this firsthand when I tutored a young lady who only needed a 17 on her ACT to get a full ride basketball schollie, and she was having trouble getting higher than 15!! Understand, this is like having trouble making a 700 on the old SAT. Really sad, but this is all over the place, and these kids are graduating high school with B averages or better. REALLY sad...

And it is NOT test-taking anxiety. It is a total lack of education and understanding of basic concepts....

Who said anything about a high road? The kid didn't qualify at Tech; that's unfortunate for us but more so for him. The OP stated he wasn't likely to qualify at USF either, which is indicative of not being even close to Tech minimums. Learn to read, then kindly go öööö yourself.

Exactly. But what I don't understand is if the kid can't even get into USF, why in the hell did our staff offer him in the first place? Surely his academic record indiacated he would never get into Tech, even as an exception. This further indicates that our recruiting policies/procedures suck and no wonder why the Hill won't grant PJ any leeway with recruits. We wasted the recruits time, and our time and money recruiting him.

How much of our time and money do you estimate that we wasted recruiting him? When calculating it, keep in mind that we currently have his close friend and fellow lineman committed.

I'm going to guess not much of either, but curious to see what you come up with.

Don't forget the Geek Alumni Elitists!

There was talk about his academics since the day he committed. Not surprised the least bit. I would have been mor surprised to see him on GT's campus.

Other teams do whatever it takes to win. We don't.

It's not just about this particular situation with Jeremi Hall. The repeated "fighting with one hand tied behind our back" stories are too numerous. It just gets old. Like mack or oldfoggy kinda old.

:bigcry:

Then go be a fan elsewhere. You're not legally required to root for Tech.

Is everyone legally required to tell anyone who disagrees with them to be a fan of some other team?

Is it necessary to always retaliate with "leave the fanbase" when someone brings up things you don't agree with? Dumbest thing I ever heard.

And I went to Tech.

Jeremi Hall isn't the first and won't be the last guy the coaches wanted that they couldn't get into school. Shoot, there was a kid from my high school that O'Leary wanted badly but he had some snafu with the NCAA clearinghouse and he fell one credit short.
He wound up playing in the Arena League for about 10 years and did quite well there.

Get over it.
