Virginia stiffs Penn State

I emailed this.. dunno if it got through:

Mike,

Welcome to the flats! Recent news is that UVA has canceled their series with Penn State leaving Penn State with an open slot on their schedule. Thousands of us (along with TV rights) would love to see us cancel an FCS team and schedule Penn State (especially given our Ted Roof and other coaching ties to the school). Would also make a great splash for yourself coming in. Hope you can make it happen. Good luck!

A Dedicated Fan

Hopefully we pursue it.

Wonder how many other schools are on the line with PSU right now.

I wouldn't care if we gave up a home game this year against an FCS team if Ped St guaranteed us a home game within a year or two. I'd much rather see us leave out FCS teams on the schedule.

Stop this crazy talk regarding things that might make us a better program.

Insanity.

I can only think that Cav Man expected a solid a** pounding from Penn State. When Penn State grabbed thier ankles in whoville, a disappointed Cav Man had to turn to the west coast to get the treatment he feels he deserves.

If turning to the west coast solves their problem of getting a solid a** pounding from PSU, then they might want to think twice of playing Oregon instead. They're liable to get a double penetration from those guys.

The only way this has a gasps chance of happening is if Penn St also has an open slot in their schedule in the future. That or we wait 5 years for the return home date.

There's also the fact that Penn St has 0 reason to play us or anyone else for that matter. Their OOC could be 4 FCS teams and it wouldn't make much of a difference to them.

O they're rethinking it. Over and over. And over. Mmmm. :hsugh:

Cav Man was disappointed in the lack of a pounding PSU gave him. That is why they scheduled Oregon. Cav Man was reluctant at first, but when Oregon assured him that there would be absolutely no Beaver lovers in their stadium, Cav Man was sold.

A neutral site game in the DC area would be really cool, esp since we recruit that area hard, but there probably isn't enough time to set that up.

Interesting that UVA would do this to a big ten team, since they seem to be one of the schools being considered for expansion.

Maybe we could play the game at Maryland's stadium.

heh

I will wholly support playing a game here. As a current Penn State student and colleague of more than a few alums, I'd love to see Tech beat the ever living piss out of PSU.

No way we're giving up the home game revenue.

Why don't we invite Ped St to Atlanta? I think the current players and coaches are allowed to cross state lines.

Oregon runs an fast, up-tempo offense. There aren't any pauses. It is just one after the other--a lot of pounding running plays and even after Oregon finishes a drive they are ready for another. UVA won't get to breathe and Oregon will dominate them.

That's exactly what Cavaman will be going for.

Because UVA was supposed to play at Penn St. So they are missing a home game. It shouldn't be too hard to get a slot matched up for both teams in '13 and '14. It'd be worth doing because even as an away game for GT it'd be better than paying directional U to get blown out at home (cause so many fans go to that game every year).

A good Virginia man will always turn away from any place as abysmally named as Happy Valley to freely carouse with a collection of fine young men who thoroughly hate beavers.

and here i thought that the Wake Forest Deacon had sent the Cavman out to learn how to run up all in and over the Beaver and get away from that evil Blue Devil for a while into the northeast woods to get more manly
